I can't imagine Kanu will stay, a loan is far better for his development, staying here right now he's maybe 5th or 6th choice at best, behind Godden, Leaburn, Kelman, any new striker we sign, and maybe even Olaofe, Campbell and Mbick when he's fit1

Think he’s more likely to be sold than loanedsam3110 said:I can't imagine Kanu will stay, a loan is far better for his development, staying here right now he's maybe 5th or 6th choice at best, behind Godden, Leaburn, Kelman, any new striker we sign, and maybe even Olaofe, Campbell and Mbick when he's fit0 -
Spotted a rumour on one of the Facebook groups the karlan grant is having a medical at sparrows lane. I’d put it firmly in the “can’t come up with any different players so let’s come up with a rumour about a former player” but interested to know thoughts.1
-
I wrote ‘as it stands’ so I claim the correctness prize.

Agree think Kanu moves on but think we need to take Campbell and Olaofe out of the thinking of being a striker. At least through the middle anyway. Not in the same bracket as Godden, Leaburn, Kelman and Mbick.sam3110 said:I can't imagine Kanu will stay, a loan is far better for his development, staying here right now he's maybe 5th or 6th choice at best, behind Godden, Leaburn, Kelman, any new striker we sign, and maybe even Olaofe, Campbell and Mbick when he's fit

Olaofe cannot play as a winger, he doesn’t do the defensive stuff. Don’t think he’ll be playing for us this seasonMartinCAFC said:

All depends on the shape. Stick to the 352 and they become the hybrid striker/winger on the left. If we go 4231 then yes I can't see how they could lead the line aloneMartinCAFC said:

What’s all this about Karlan Grant having a medical today? Any truth in that?2

Think Kanu goes on a permanent for a fee with a sellon , Olaofe gets loaned out and we sign a new striker for a good fee.sam3110 said:I can't imagine Kanu will stay, a loan is far better for his development, staying here right now he's maybe 5th or 6th choice at best, behind Godden, Leaburn, Kelman, any new striker we sign, and maybe even Olaofe, Campbell and Mbick when he's fit0 -

I won't forgive Grant for scoring against us away at Huds and giving it to the fans, he is a wanker! Please don't sign him.8

Did you see the amount of stick we were giving him? I don’t get this narrative that footballers aren’t allowed to give it backrobroy said:I won't forgive Grant for scoring against us away at Huds and giving it to the fans, he is a wanker! Please don't sign him.17 -
That came after he had got constant and really nasty abuse from the Charlton fans about him being a rapist. He was 100% entitled to give it back to the fans after he scored.robroy said:I won't forgive Grant for scoring against us away at Huds and giving it to the fans, he is a wanker! I was at the game, he did it for each of their goals. He got a little boo at the start when his name was read out, then nothing.000__Jaaaaay__000 said:

It has come from someone on Facebook. I don’t think it is true.0

They had a player whose goals helped them massively overachieve and got them to the play off final at Wembley, which they only lost 1-0 from a free kick. We had to wait until the last home game of the season against Hull to see how playing him into the game that way could work.bolloxbolder said:I got speaking to an Orient fan a couple of days ago.
He said Ballard was a massive upgrade on Kelman. He'd heard they received a bid of £5m for him and in rejecting it told the club they want £10m. Crazy money.
Agreed that their team was set up purely to accommodate Kelman. Had some biased views about the play off final, but that's another story. Truth told, a vile individual.0 -
I see the hurty feelings brigade are out today re K. Grant , I think it would be a decent signing, still fairly young , if indeed it is true and that’s a big indeed .4

Grant missed 20 games last season due to a Hamstring injury and a recurrence of that injury. He'd also want big wages. Is that a risk worth taking?

That is such a weird assumption though. To assume that in a month absolutely nothing will happen? No-one in, no-one out at all? Not happening.jose said:As it stands I assume what we have at the moment is what we start the season with.
I am glad that Daniel Kanu is staying.
Also personally glad other academy graduates (though not Zach Mitchell) are staying, as that situation justifies having an academy in the first place.
Maybe I am alone in not spending the summer yearning, despite the club being owned by something like a consortium of a dozen multi billionaires.
There may not be much that happens and it may be good or bad business but it won't be nothing at all.4 -
Not for me.fenaddick said:Grant missed 20 games last season due to a Hamstring injury and a recurrence of that injury. He'd also want big wages. Is that a risk worth taking?1 -
KG is probably a very average bottom 6 Championship footballer. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in League One soon.
A few stories I’ve heard about his conduct off the pitch also make me less keen.0 -
Grant would also be able to play the hybrid winger/striker role, is an upgrade on Olaofe, but probably has enough about him to play a lone striker role too.
However I think we need a more physical player than Grant, and I doubt there's any substance to the rumour anyway2 -
(ed - Just realised I posted this in the wrong thread!)2

Regardless of my thoughts on him personally, looking at his injuries, his wages and minutes to goal ratio its a no from me.
A goal every 300 minutes.
Kelman is a goal every 200 in the champ.1
