Just catching up too after spending the day pushing a bird across the carpet. Underwhelmed.

    No signings is disappointing too...
Did she get carpet burns on her arse...

My 18 year old grandson has just had his hair cut in New Eltham and also there was a as yet unannounced new signing also getting his hair cut! He didn’t ask his name but he told the barber that he had just signed. I know that several of the players use this barber so let’s wait and see who it is. My grandson said it wasn’t Karlan Grant
FFS 100 posts since this post and not a single question about your grandson’s haircut…I’m interested @superdulvertonred . Tell me more.

Grant left us half way through 18/19 and played in the Championship for 6 seasons and the PL for 1.5 and will be 29 in a few months. As long his attitude and fitness are up to it he’s got to add something hasn’t he? I’d expect him to give us competition out wide and up front, something we need. I’m not convinced Olaofe will turn things around with us, and I don’t think we’ll gamble on Kanu being a better bet

Let’s hope we can move some on.

Mitchell and Kanu I expect will find homes easily enough.  Kanu knows he needs to establish himself after a series of loans and I expect he’ll want to get it done sooner rather than later.  Shame Mitchell never worked out, but he’s good league One pedigree

Hopefully Blackpool can come to an agreement with Anderson, or there’s another league one club that fancies him

i think we’re pretty screwed with Olaofe and Apter and it may be that we’re subsidizing their wages.

Dixon is another one we have to chalk up to being a wasted signing, but surely he can’t be on the highest wage.

Going to be an important couple of weeks

I'm more concerned why an 18 year old couldn't manage to access the camera on his iphone !!

Surprise signing tomorrow according to world renowned Charlton Facebook group journalist Albert Rossi.
It's going to be a late one. Will somebody wake NJ from his camp bed.

I can't imagine Kanu will stay, a loan is far better for his development, staying here right now he's maybe 5th or 6th choice at best, behind Godden, Leaburn, Kelman, any new striker we sign, and maybe even Olaofe, Campbell and Mbick when he's fit
Agree think Kanu moves on but think we need to take Campbell and Olaofe out of the thinking of being a striker. At least through the middle anyway. Not in the same bracket as Godden, Leaburn, Kelman and Mbick.

Olaofe cannot play as a winger, he doesn’t do the defensive stuff. Don’t think he’ll be playing for us this season
    Lets hope not

1 in 1 out might make this a very very slow window. I wonder if the owners will tell NJ he has to stick with Apter and Olafe as he only bought them last season.

I’d be furious if it was my money that had been wasted like that.

I think a few moves like Ballard and Tolaj will happen soon and that will trigger things all across the leagues.

Four/five months to be given a chance then binned off is not satisfactory.
We do not have money to waste so hopefully they can come good and given a prolonged run in the team in positions they are used to.

If they expected every expensive signing to go well then they were very naive in the first place. One look at pretty much every teams transfer business each season would tell them that this isn’t uncommon

But in this case it was every expensive signing, going poorly.

You can’t say that you would be happy with the situation if it was your money.

I’d hope so, as many have said apter at Blackpool was an exciting prospect.

Tanto has the physical attributes to thrive at the level just lacks the technical ability.

Olaofe was what £1.5m? Apter rumoured at £2m+. That’s really not much in the grand scheme of things and the money the owners have put into the club over the past few years

Look at any championship club and they’ll have signed players for more that have flopped. I’m sure we will have more flops in future years if we stay at this level. I know we aren’t used to spending money so it maybe feels worse to us, but this is normal and if the owners have a huge problem with it then they probably shouldn’t own a championship football club

Other clubs are irrelevant in this situation. So are hypotheticals on what we could spend.

It is what we have spent and they are two of our most expensive signings of the last 10 years. Certainly the two most expensive of the owners tenure. The money was paid because they were told that these were the players we needed to progress. 6 months later those players are back in league one, 12 months later we are seemingly trying to either sell them or loan them out again.

That’s is unacceptable, there’s no spin you can put on it that changes that.

We have one of the lowest budgets in the league those fees were huge for us.

Heard a few whispers about there hardly being any interest in some of the players we’re trying to loan out and sell.

The likes of Apter & Tanto only attracting interest from League Two clubs who aren’t willing to pay any wages.
I wonder if we need to let some go before we bring in some players & hence why no signings lately.

If so we might have to take a haircut (see what I did there) on a few like Tanto & Apter just so we start the season with the players we want.
We need to bring in signings asap if possible irrespective of letting whoever go or we risk missing out on targets. I'm sure loaning out/selling players before the end of the window will be easier the later into the window we get whereas our targets will be getting a nice pre season with their new clubs.
