Collins Sichenje Signs On A Three And A Half Year Deal

Easy mistake to make I suppose.Athletico Charlton said:He very obviously did his hamstring and was told he needed to play on.
It was a woeful managerial decision, and when that was pointed out on here after the game, posters defended it saying it was only cramp.0 -
I was one. To be fair, it was an insane decision to keep him on knowing what we know now. It wasn’t immediately obvious exactly what the issue was, he was just limping around so you would have assumed the medical team have checked him out thoroughly and would’ve pulled him out the game if it was serious.Athletico Charlton said:He very obviously did his hamstring and was told he needed to play on.
It was a woeful managerial decision, and when that was pointed out on here after the game, posters defended it saying it was only cramp. And watching Charlton TV, Brownie said it was cramp too, presumably making the same assumption as everyone else that the club wouldn’t jeopardise a player like that if it was serious. But they did and that was wrong.6 -
Poor Collins. We brought his transfer forward early to injur him!
Tongue in cheek joke aside, has anybody heard an update? You don't even see him in training pics.
My guess is that he probably tore his hammie and had an operation.0 -
He has been in training and went out to Slovenia but we realistically don’t need to rush him have enough cover in Jones Burke and Gough and potentially Ramsay who can play as a RCB_uptheaddicks said:Poor Collins. We brought his transfer forward early to injur him!

I don't think we would be 'rushing' anybody in pre-season to join full training.3

It’s not exactly a position we are short in either. Have Ramsay, Burke and Gough all fit if needed_uptheaddicks said:I don't think we would be 'rushing' anybody in pre-season to join full training.2 -
This pre season I have started to think a fully fit Burke is not the worst.
Would prefer a fully fit Collins mind.1 -
Starting to worry about this lad. Injured and missed the end of last season. Not getting a proper pre season if I’m correct and not played much football in England. He’ll be playing catch up all season and we know from bitter experience what not having a proper pre season often brings with it. Hope I’m wrong but I can see him not featuring very much.5
-
A fully fit Burke is like an equinox. It'll only happen twice a year.8

IMO you should be more worried about the decision to keep him on which aggravated his injury. I thought we had got rid of that primitive way of thinking, but it appears to have returned since a certain high profile member of the backroom staff unexpectedly resigned. That means something like this can happen again.ShootersHillGuru said:Starting to worry about this lad. Injured and missed the end of last season. It was Dr Will Abbott as everyone knows ffs lol6

Abbot’s role would have had no influence on the Sichenje substitution? He wouldn’t have been in the dugout to influence anything1

Some people seem to be forgetting that Collins Sichenje played for us again before the end of the season after the injury v Wrexham. People are also forgetting that we were basically forced into playing him more than we wanted to at that time because of injuries to other options (came on after half hour v West Brom when Jones went down and after 15mins v Wrexham when Burke got injured).
The decision to leave him on for three or four minutes v Wrexham when he kicked the ball once has been overblown dramatically in my view. It wasn't a great decision, but understandable in the heat of the moment. It may have slightly aggravated the injury, but at worst we are talking about an upgrade from a bad grade 1 hamstring injury to a grade 2 as he returned after five to six weeks.
It would be great to hear some more about his injury status and timeline (along with Josh Edwards), but it is not the Jones way.10 -
Reece Burke, on his day, can put in a quality 90-minute shift at centre half, there's no denying it.
Just shame that his day is February 29th.19 -

We make a lot of great signings . Maybe Jones is actually a genius . Tactically , not in terms of who he signsTalal said:

IIRC, Edwards got injured, received treatment, played on for a few minutes then went off, never to be seen again for the rest of the season.elbiglad said:Some people seem to be forgetting that Collins Sichenje played for us again before the end of the season after the injury v Wrexham. Fair enough criticism of my post, and I bow to your greater knowledge of injuries. However I wonder what Steve Brown would say to you about it. On the day on CTV he was convinced at first that it was a hamstring problem. When he saw that Sichenje was going to continue he concluded that he had got it wrong as with a hamstring, you just have to go off. I guess he concluded that from extensive personal experience?elbiglad said:Some people seem to be forgetting that Collins Sichenje played for us again before the end of the season after the injury v Wrexham. But I certainly had forgotten that he appeared against Wrexham.I think we are all agreed on your final sentence.0 -

I hope we havent broken him already !!!!1

Provide you wrap it correctly and print the Amazon return label, you can return almost anything. But they will claim we broke him which may void the refund.gringo said:

Great interview. Delighted to hear he feels more confident, comfortable, and calm now playing English football.2
