It is a bit strange that we're allegedly scouting as far as Japan but we've so far come up with, a player in Scotland, one in Holland & 2 English free agents? Just feels there's a disconnect somewhere between what the club is saying and doing that I can't quite put my finger on ATM, the easy assumption to make is that the budget is challenging but hard to say at this stage, crossing my fingers for a marquee signing or two in the middle of the park1

What is with the sudden influx of WUMs on this site recently?12

RB, RW, CDM and a CM who they’ll be is a completely different questionHenry Irving said:Anyway,

Yea it’s weird isn’t it. Seem to come in waves. They’ll get bored eventually when people stop responding.ProperCharlton said:What is with the sudden influx of WUMs on this site recently?3 -

I thought it was just Roland accepting any bid for any player always.Braziliance said:Not sure about Karlan Grant, left on pretty bad terms and whenever we have played him since you can tell there's a bit of animosity there.
Didn't work when Bonne came back. Grant is of course a better player by a mile, but still.
I have him in the same camp as Bonne, Lyle and Roger Johnson.4 -
Currently we are at the stage where our signings are all about potential, have a point to prove or viewed as on the wane.
We had pretty well with the first two categories until last Summer, the third one worries me.0 -
You’re forgetting the player from Serbia in January. And just because we’ve looked in Japan, doesn’t mean we’ve found the right player for us yetYannTheMann said:It is a bit strange that we're allegedly scouting as far as Japan but we've so far come up with, a player in Scotland, one in Holland & 2 English free agents? Nixon claiming Oxford might have to accept £2m for Stan Mills with their situation. Surely we should be all over this and beat Preston to him?15

True I suppose, but I will add to that Collins impact has been pretty minor so far and he is not looking like he's fit enough to start again, which is a concern imo. Struggle to believe that there is no one more effective than Nathan Redmond we could look at between London & Tokyo0 -
But are they cost effective? Also we won’t be scouting by geography as such but by how good that league is and how comparable it is to the championshipYannTheMann said:fenaddick said:

Don’t even care who the player is if we beat Preston to a signing that’s good enough for meMarcusH26 said:Nixon claiming Oxford might have to accept £2m for Stan Mills with their situation. Surely we should be all over this and beat Preston to him?20 -
Just for the sake of clarity, different countries have different systems of justice. Spain for example has investigating judges, acting a bit like our CPS. They get to see the evidence (or lack thereof) and get to decide whether a matter can proceed. It is clear in this matter that the investigating judge (a woman), having reviewed the phone footage, found the allegations laughable and quickly returned the individuals' passports.ValleyLocal said:
I wouldn't trust most judges in a Primary school, mate.TheHerminator said:
So a judge looking at the evidence and saying there is no case to take forward and that it was indeed consensual isn’t good enough?ValleyLocal said:

That's a pretty stupid statement. Just means the person hasn't been found guilty by a court in the eyes of law.
Is that how the real world works?
This is exactly way women have to start movements like 'me too'.
Nice that you do tho. Grow up in a nice safe, suburban middle-class bubble?
In the circumstances of there being no actual case, I think the better term to use would be "innocent" rather than "not guilty" as the latter implies there was actually a matter being prosecuted.
So, can we just knock this bollocks on the head now?

Grant wanted the move and I don't blame him for that but Meire/Duchatelet sold him cheaply and then didn't give Bowyer the money to re-invest hence Josh Parker. Taylor and KAG were a very good combination and maybe we would have gone up automatically if he stayed.
As it was we went up anyway.
But that is all water under the bridge now.
He's a proven championship player, only 28, has pace and presses well so fits the NJ mold.
We'll have to see how it works out as his fitness record isn't brilliant.

Nixon is notoriously full of shit.MarcusH26 said:Nixon claiming Oxford might have to accept £2m for Stan Mills with their situation. Surely we should be all over this and beat Preston to him?
He’s right every once in a while, but I think you could pick a club, a player and a price at random and have as much chance of getting it right as Nixon.5 -
There were other people putting out that Mills to Preston or Stoke had legs but for less than 2M especially since they can’t sign replacements doesn’t sound rightlordromford said:

I’ve never been charged with rape or found guilty by a court of law. I’m guilty?ValleyLocal said:

This. He's a Sun journo, right? According to this site https://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/sources/newspapers a pathetic 21% of The Sun's football transfer rumours prove to be correct. The Guardian comes out best with 40% accuracy.lordromford said:

Bored. So some random names to throw in the ring. No knowledge on anything...
Harrison Armstrong = Everton
Tommy Setford = Arsenal
George Henmings= Villa
Kelly Nmae = Salford
Kevin Carlos = Nice
Stan Mills = Oxford0 -
I thought it was worth a mention to at least try and drag things away from the other topic in this thread 😅, I know Nixon is hit and miss although weirdly during the Sandgaard era he was rather accurateCrispywood said:

Hopefully just training with the forum over the summer, as theyre clearly not going to improve us. Still hoping we can land a big-name troll before the season starts.ProperCharlton said:What is with the sudden influx of WUMs on this site recently?18 -
I check frequently at players following and followers to look for mutual connections at a club and obviously if they have been linked with us and then they follow a couple of our players there is usually some substance to it. In particular I check Aribos frequently and he wasn’t following Doch last time I checked so just thought I’d point it out. That’s all mate 😂. Agree with you 100 percent re Aribo, would definitely welcome him back.Braziliance said:
How do you know if he has just followed him? Just curious.CB1 said:Don’t know if they have played together at a club before but Joe Aribo is now following Greg Docherty too on instagram. Don’t believe they played with each other at Rangers so thought that was a bit odd. They could of course be friends but just thought I’d point it out.
I would welcome Aribo back with open arms. I think it just clicks at certain club, with a decent pre-season and a bit of freedom, could be a serious pick up for us.1 -

I think that's all the old lags mentioned on here over the past weeks covered.1 -

Don’t always get the backlash for wanting to or signing ex players. Will the player improve us, are they what the manager wants and is the deal suitable for the club if they tick the boxes that should be the key factorssam3110 said:
