  • NJ has coached both Joe Aribo and Karlan Grant so they must be coming to Charlton

    Anyway,

Who are the four other signings alongside Grant to be?

Bored. So some random names to throw in the ring.  No knowledge on anything...

    Harrison Armstrong = Everton
    Tommy Setford = Arsenal
    George Henmings= Villa
    Kelly Nmae = Salford
    Kevin Carlos = Nice
    Stan Mills = Oxford
Kevin Carlos is an interesting one.
24 games and no goals for Nice last season as a striker?! Sign him up!

Not the biggest Grant fan, but a huge step up on Tanto. Who isn’t up to it.

    Dobson
    Aribo
    Morgan
    JRS

I think that's all the old lags mentioned on here over the past weeks covered.
I’d be up for 3 of those .  Morgan probably not a lot better than Docherty or Coventry

Did Jones say he was happy with the 3 he has in already, would that mean Grant has signed already or Redmond?

With respect does this thread have to turn into a did he, didn’t he discussion? The guy is potentially coming to play football for us having not been found guilty of anything.
He hasn't been found non guilty as there was no trial. Charges were dropped 4 years after the incident.
Without wanting to extend this nonsense. He’s therefore not guilty.
But then you extend the nonsense with a stupid statement 🤔
Stupid statement? What are you on about?
The idea that if charges are dropped in a rape case that automatically means the suspect isn't guilty.

That's a pretty stupid statement. Just means the person hasn't been found guilty by a court in the eyes of law.

Is that how the real world works?

This is exactly way women have to start movements like 'me too'.

Please give it a rest for God's sake

IMO, Karlan Grant is a good signing. Think he’ll do well. Forget the past, it’s gone. We look to the future #WelcomeHome

Just seen the CAFC video. Karlan said: "I'm coming home!"

Quality player. Just bend to the NJ way and he'll be great.

Doesn’t overly excite me this one, but happy to give him a chance, can’t argue that he has experience at the level which is what we all are asking for.His  Attitude towards resigning for us will be the thing that makes or breaks people’s opinion, hope it’s not a case of easy money in familiar surroundings. Good luck Karlan.

Happy with that, good pace and work rate and we know he can finish, wouldn’t mind him and TC either side of a striker

Hmmm, fairly whelmed with this. Will give the lad the benefit of the doubt and I guess for a free transfer it’s a very good deal.

In the Substack article with Rich, Jones mentions we need more quality in the final third and in midfield, and this is after the signing of Grant as he's talking about him being a great addition. Obviously we're in talks with Dykes, and he mentions movement needed to get a striker in as right now we have 6 (Godden, Kelman, Leaburn, Kanu, Olaofe, Mbick) but following those comments I reckon we're looking at at least Redmond and maybe even one more on the wing.

He also mentions that Mwamba has really come on and describes him as "an option" so expect to see him on the fringes of the squad more this season

I’ve jumped ahead to the latest page, as it was too consuming reading hair puns.

Have we really signed Grant, or is it a lot of wishful thinking?

Not sure what the moaners expect tbh. The bloke is a proven championship striker and that’s exactly what we need. Welcome back Karlan

Jury out on Grant, we are pretty stacked with strikers if it looks like we’ll be playing with 1 up top.

Personally think he'll play LW. Love to cut in and gets most of his goals that way.

Don’t think many are moaning, certainly a few on the fence about him, which I think is perfectly acceptable.
