World Cup Final half-time show

A half-hour show at half-time, featuring Justin Bieber, Madonna and Robbie Williams. I suspect they will be miming to backing tracks, as there will be no opportunity for sound checks. What are your views on this?

Personally, I feel it is totally unnecessary vanity project for Infantino and Trump and will break up the rhythm of the match. Players will get cold sitting for half an hour and momentum is likely to be lost. I hope that the fans give it the same reaction as German fans did when one club there tried it - non-stop whistling and booing until it was pulled. I can just imagine how well Madonna would react to that…

My view is they won't need a sound check to be singing live, Festival performances only get a line check (check mics, instruments are connected and working, get a ball park level) so this will probably be the same, it'll all have been rehearsed in advance anyway, performance and production. Probably be some miming, some live stuff too; software can do so much now the days of needing to mime are gone.

An absolute circus, bringing the razzmatazz of American sport to the World Cup.
This tournament is for football, I'm sure the players must be raging at this.

If either ITV or BBC show that shower of shite, I will switch off and just follow on Flashscore

1 - the show is not half hour

2 - why would they have not done sound checks ?

Other than that agree, load of bollocks

It's been quoted as half an hour elsewhere, which is why so many are unhappy about it. I meant that there would be no time for a check at half-time so I suspect miming will be used to avoid any risk of poor sound quality. I won't be watching but happy to read any reports.

For me it’s another innovation from the grand ole U S of A that needs to be fucked off double quick along with hydration breaks

I hope it gets booed throughout and that it’s the last time they ever do it.

Will Robbie Williams stick his middle finger up at the camera, like he did in 2018 during the opening ceremony?

Just read the first couple of lines out loud to the family as we didn’t know about this half time show. 7 year old son says "is that the one that scored the hand ball goal?"

Whilst I get the sentiment I don’t think Trump has demanded a half time show.

This is surely just the further commercialisation of football.

From the half time whistle to the restart for the second half it was around 27 mins 20 seconds (I am that sad I timed it )

Fair play to Rooney for his honesty on air. Call it for what it was.
