We are owned by a consortium of half a dozen multi billionaires, so it would be nice if they hired Shakira to do ten minutes at half time, preferably during a match that isn’t expected to sell out in order to boost the attendance.

The one person who benefited from the half time show was Wayne Rooney. That one comment will see him in a different light by the majority as a pundit going forward

Whilst I get the sentiment I don’t think Trump has demanded a half time show.

This is surely just the further commercialisation of football.
We will have to see, but I doubt there will be a half time show at the next Euros or World Cup. This was done for the US audience.

It was an utter shitshow. Rooney was right, this World Cup (despite all the good parts) was bloated and hijacked by the worst excesses of the USA.
The major football associations of the world need to consider breaking away from FIFA.

Diana Ross knocking a pen wide and the goal snapping in half!

I've no problem having all the razzmatazz before the game starts. As long as it's all over 15 minutes before the match starts, and then the rest of the evening until the presentation fireworks is all about the football.

I froze the TV as soon as it was HT and then went x6 to fast forward past the HT 'entertainment'

I then realised the 2nd half had already started and as the 1st half wasn't exciting I went x 2 until I caught up in the 55th minute.

Football was a game of 4 quarters with the input of American TV revenue streams.

I thought Madonna looked terrifying. She's more artificial than The Muppets.

I'm not sure but the show might have seemed better if the match had been better. It was all a chore to watch.

But they will just say we tried it and it wasn’t liked / viable.

My point is I agree it’s a US thing but not automatically a Trump thing.
