Only place this has been reported is this one tweet from someone with 25 followers. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they wanted him in the Championship given he made no impact in L1DennisBooth said:Apter to Bolton on loan.

Harvey Blair from Pompey joining us?

Would be surprised if Apter went anywhere before the very back end of the window. Given he's also currently got a knock.1

Another forward? Plays right wing mainly
I can’t imagine we are buying a winger with apter in the building and actually seem to playing a system that might suit him0 -
Another left winger would be a surprise and he hardly stood out last season. Still young though and would know KoumetioScoham said:Harvey Blair from Pompey joining us?

Dodgy Twitter account so probably not true.0

Problem with Blair is injuries. Missed most of last season with a torn Hamstring.1

A bit off topic but related to the above the whole 'market' for promising kids it crazy and I've lived through it this summer with my 15YO son, who's a goalkeeper.cabbles said:
based on the fact he was on loan at Oxford last season and did okay, I thought he might be an option for us . But as you say, 10m is crazy. The Premier league clubs really do well when it comes to players they sell through their academies. Regardless of talent it’s like there’s already a premium the buying clubs then have to pay regardless.mart77 said:I’ve seen Lankshear who was on loan at Oxford mentioned as an option. Going to Boro in £10+ mill deal. The market really is whack a doodle! That’s why I was anti City’s shop window match and a chance to engage in their player farm. The other thing that annoys me is that these young players get hoovered up by bigger clubs, just because they can, literally just trawl fishing, and then when they’re done, they’re either like Lankshear and cost crazy money, or, they were never actually good enough to play at that level anyway, and get to 23/24 having played a handful of games, when they could’ve built something at a club more appropriate
He got the opportunity to play for Chelsea a couple of times in the spring and from there we've had several clubs approach him and watch him. This resulted in Brentford offering him a place in their development squad, which we turned down, the very next day Southampton contacted us and then sent a scout down and offered the same.
My view was neither wanted to actually sign him but they did want to tie him up and stop anyone else getting him until they'd assessed him for 6 months. From there Swindon Town came in and offered a full trial, this was because all of the scouts are connected and he had hear about him from other scouts so they wanted to get in front of the queue and offer a full trial. Next up was Bournemouth who are being very aggressive in recruiting for their academy due to their newly awarded CAT1 status and getting players up to standard. They told me they loved my son and rated him highly, despite me knowing they've never seen him play, but I'm sure they are on the WhatsApp groups etc. One scout sent me some screengrabs of scouts discussing my lad months before there was any approach.
AFCB was very tempting but my lad is now on trial at Swindon. What is clear to me through all of this is most of these clubs aren't looking for the next big thing (they'll just buy them later, of have them deactivate, once they are more proven) but they are very worried about missing out on one on their doorstep to a rival. It's basically just a business of tying up players and then ditching them when you find better. For the smaller clubs it's about getting in the best you can and selling them on way before the first team. City is a high level version of this and they'll make millions. Heskey has gone for £6m so you can't really say it doesn't work and for the kids they get amazing opportunities, fantastic coaching and the opportunity to fall down the tree and hopefully land on a branch lower down.42 -

That Pompey account does seem to be on a wind up, Blair wouldn't really fit our needs so it would be a surprise0

Did you actually look into the stats on this? He's listed as a "right winger" on there because he played 7 games as a right winger in the Liverpool under 18s, 5 seasons ago, and has barely played any football of note in his whole career, and they only collate information on positions when a player starts a match.AberystwythAddick said:

Most of the time he comes on as a sub and plays on the left0 -
Blair would seem like a cheap punt, maybe someone we were looking at if the Grant deal didn't happen, IMO1
-
No chance with Apter or Blair. Bolton didn't rate him so why would they want him in a division above? Blair isn't rated by Pompey fans and isn't considered a hard worker, which Nathan Jones won't have.2

Bang out of order to go off topic on this thread. It's always transfer related and never about house prices, fish puns, haircuts...ThomasOliver3 said:

When you’re so desperate you’ll sign any old bloke

No no, ignore the evidence Fen posted that shows exactly where the player physically plays, a website that famously guesses the positions and formations of players says something differentsam3110 said:

With the possible exception of T Campbell, there is no clear sign yet that we can bring through young players at this stage in the Champ. It looks more likely that we have to rely on Coadys and Grants, experienced Champ players with some life left in them.Addickhead86 said:
I think this shows our roadmap has to be taking some gambles on young players and hoping a couple really break out. Get into a cycle of selling your best player every couple of seasons for these kind of fees and then using the expanded budget to gamble on youngsters with even higher ceilings. Basically the Coventry model.thenewbie said:
This is why the midfield hasn't seen much transfer activity yet - I have no doubt Jones knows as well as anyone how much improving is needed, he will be as eager as any of us if not moreso to get it done but when Lankshear is going for a 7 figure fee the market is just completely insane.mart77 said:I’ve seen Lankshear who was on loan at Oxford mentioned as an option. Hes good yes, but 10 million pounds good? I just don't see it.
Our Academy has been great in League One, but I am not sure it is going to produce Champ level players any time soon.
It's not bringing them through, it's holding onto them. There are 5-6 in PL academies who grew up at Charlton and left before signing contracts. We need to find a way to hold onto those players like Millwall did with Esse.2 -

Burke is fine as backup, and we wouldn't get much for him.wmcf123 said:

Mitchell wants to play, and we can't guarantee him the minutes he wants.2 -
I think he’d play enough games . The guy from Dundee has a poor fitness record , as does Burke . Not sure if Bell can play centre back in a 4. That leaves Collins , who is injured, Ramsay who would probably be a right back in a 4, and Jones, who is the only banker .killerandflash said:

Really don’t think Burke can be relied upon to be playing an active role.
He will play 2/3 games then miss 7/8. It’s a recurring theme and one I don’t see changing.9 -
Great insight, thanks.ThomasOliver3 said:

No one is taking Burke because of his history record, whereas Mitchell you can get a fee for.wmcf123 said:
