Next England manager

A style and approach needs to be embedded from England youth levels, all the way up. When you come to play for England, this is how we play. We had that with Southgate, whatever you think of it, it was pretty successful. Tuchel comes in and changed that completely. There is no style. There is no identity. Plan A and B are “let’s hope Kane and Bellingham can do something”.Exiled_Addick said:100% get why people would want Pep, and if he's realistically available/interested then the FA probably should give him a go.
However, Pep's success is built on meticulous planning and tactical complexity and discipline. Hard to instill those things in an international team than you get a few days with every few months, half of which doesn't reliably show for each match.
I'm not convinced he's the right fit for international football, but I don't mind the idea of England being the ones to find out.
I suspect Tuchel will manage us at the next Euros, though, unless qualifying goes badly sideways. And, taking the tournament and qualification as a whole, he's probably done enough to be afforded an opportunity to learn from his mistakes and make corrections. Question is, does he understand the mistakes he made? I suspect he's probably more self-critical than he lets on in public.
It doesn’t need to be a big name in charge, just someone who understands how we’ve coached our players through the system. Carsley blew it with his weird team selection in his last game. Maybe he didn’t want the job, but I’d take another look at him or start grooming other coaches in our network. Ashley Cole is pretty highly rated and has been involved with England previously as an example.

I would like to see the next manager work closely with our two World Class players on squad and team selection. He would hav ethe final say of course but it could be helpful to have the imput of those playing in the team. A bit off the wall I know.0

Tuchel will stay. He'll get us to the semi finals of the Euros. We'll be 1-0 up with 20 minutes left. He'll throw on attackers instead of defenders. We'll lose 2-16

The F*** A**’s won’t want to pay off German Tommy’s remaining 2yr contract so buckle up as he’s staying for Euro 28. ….Spain, England, France for 28 semis & maybe a revitalized Italy under Peps Stewardship to get 4th berth….Anything less than getting England to 28 Final, Tommy will be out & let’s face it we don’t exactly have an amazing English Managerial pool …I can’t see Carrick going for it if Man U’s Frankenstein monster finally awakes, Eddie Howe not sure he’s answer or Lampard ? Then Who else? So maybe FA has to look at coach within the St George’s England set up in 2yrs time?In meantime we’ll have to try & forget TT’s kamikaze semi final tactics: subs and move on & hope he gets it right at Euro28.0
