Is he Better than what we currently have otherwise he’s just another squad player which we really don’t need. It’s two or three players signed and viewed as starters that’s needed.Braziliance said:On the subject of Peterborough and that ridiculous rumour, I have noticed Peterboroughs player of the year Archie Collins hasn't joined anyone yet.
Really feel that would be a smart pick up. Pretty good on the ball, can pick a pass, plenty of league 1 experience and looks like he could play a level above potentially.
Not saying he would solve all our midfield problems, but think it would be a solid pick up on a free.6 -
I agree. We currently have quality at the back. There may be a goalscror or two up front with the right service. But our midfield is mediocre to a man and we will be relegated if we have to rotate Coventry, Docherty, Knibbs, Carey and JRC.ShootersHillGuru said:

I am of course referring to Stoke, Preston and Bristol City. Bang average sides that are pure gatekeeper teams in this league (respectfully, I wish we were them) and their spend on one player will probably match our budget this season and in some cases, last seasons.
Of course Boro don't fit that bill, but they're still in the same league as us, and they're spending big sums. Irrespective of if that was funded by player sales.
Bookies have us down as 2nd favourites to go down. On squad strength alone, I am struggling to identify 3 squads worse than ours with the exception of the newly promoted trio, two of which I expect to be almost on par with us before the season starts.
I just think it's going to be an extremely difficult season and 21st would be a hell of an achievement imo with our circumstances. (One of the lowest spending sides in the league with a lot of league 1 players still)
Joint third favs to go down. It goes Lincoln, Bolton and then us and Cardiff equal (Bet365).
It's very different this season, as there aren't any teams with transfer embargos like Hull, or point deductions.
This is a far more difficult season to stay up.
Cardiff have good youngsters, but aren't big spenders. They're only money is on their keeper, was on loan with them last season
Bolton were a mediocre side, who scraped up via the playoffs
Blackburn still have an awful owner.
Pompey will still be bottom 3rd of the table
West Brom and QPR won't be much better than they were last season etc

We should buy Jesurun Dahnsaki.6

If this is true it shows how deeply in trouble we might be trying to get a quality midfielder(s). Cardiff are joint favourites with us to go down rememberDennisBooth said:

Might be asking the wrong person that to be fair, as I think Alan Curbishley could come in to the team today and be a better midfielder than Docherty, and I think Coventry has been underwhelming at Champ level.ShootersHillGuru said:

Can't say I have watched him enough to have a view like I could Doc and Cov. Statistically he is a better player than them both at league 1 level. He's had a few Championship clubs interested for this season and last season.
I personally think he improves us and it's a low risk signing. Could make the step up, but if we go down, would be a solid player to have under contract4 -

Obviously you hope theres no truth to the rumours of Ramsey, but if he isnt to sign a new deal then unfortunately you have to sell him this window and take good money for him.16
-
I have a hunch a jones/ramsay contract renewal will be announced at the same time.
no inside info, just a hunch.0 -
At least with Ramsay we are reasonably well covered at RCB (if we are still playing a 3), with Sichenje signing, Gough coming through and even Burke for the 15 games of the season he’s available

Really not bothered. We paid 4.75 Million for Jason Euell in 2001 you have to remember. That almost matches that.DennisBooth said:

Now Lincoln are getting stuck in. So much for me thinking they would bribe their best players with a sausage roll and a can of coke as a performance bonus.

Well lincoln etc may spend more then us but we had £15m last season.I be happy if we raid wrexham.i think oxford players go another club apart from se7.We need to be wise in the market.6

Depends on the severity of it I suppose. The person who told me has no reason to lie, they said training was delayed for a few hours while he was getting treatment! I guess we will see.Talal said:
Well you could. If his shoulder popped out in the match he won't be back training, even if it was popped back in straight away. Happened to me and I couldn't move my arm for weeks.RedRobin said:
Yep, was apparently cleared to join training and it popped out again! Now having a scan, you couldn’t make it up!WSS said:
Again? Unlucky for him as he done the same thing in the game on Saturday.RedRobin said:A striker might be on the list, I’ve heard Kelman dislocated his shoulder again in training, it might require surgery!0 -
