You are never getting 8M for Ramsay with a year left, if Torino were interested they can sign a pre-agreement in Jan and we get nothing very similar to Callum Britain of Blackburn from last year very similar players and situation would hope we hold out for 3M they got for him.wolfgang said:
Depends how much they will pay. I love Ramsay and think there is more to come from him, but if they pay 8 million quid we could buy two good midfielders. We have Sichenje and Gough to play at RB or RCB.Emason32 said:I really hope nothing comes of those Ramsay rumoursWe talk about every other team strengthening more than us but to this point unlike others we’ve lost no one of value. I’d be ok with less transfer activity if we can get players like Ramsay tied down to new deals.Genuinely think Ramsay is one of the best wide centre-backs/fullbacks in the league his reputation had just taken as massive hit more than it should have after his 2 Millwall performances.3 -
Just sold Ramsey for 8 million to a Saudi club (on football manager, just saying).Crispywood said:

Think it's reasonable to be slightly concerned with where we're at in terms of squad building as of right now while recognising the situation may change quickly, does give some comfort that all of Nathan's public statements are him being happy with where we're at etc and as other managers have shown, if they're truly unhappy they tend to focus on other things or not say much whereas doesn't seem like Jones is dodging questions around transfers as it were. We'll all know come kick off against Derby how the squad looks5

We have over a month to make the probably 4 signings that we need. I still think it’s too early for any serious concernYannTheMann said:Think it's reasonable to be slightly concerned with where we're at in terms of squad building as of right now while recognising the situation may change quickly, does give some comfort that all of Nathan's public statements are him being happy with where we're at etc and as other managers have shown, if they're truly unhappy they tend to focus on other things or not say much whereas doesn't seem like Jones is dodging questions around transfers as it were. Most concern seems to be around our budget, which let’s be honest none of us know, and whether it’s enough will only really be clear when we’ve signed those players and the window is over8 -
I get the Lincoln example, but arguably they’re not in as strong a position as we are in that (and I agree with Nathan Jones), we have the foundation of our team/squad already. We may be missing out on players due to our budget, but we have made three sensible additions so far it would seem. The proof of the pudding will be the upgrade(s) on Doc and Coventry to give us something a bit more dynamic in the middle, plugging the gap down the right with two decent players and if there is scope, another flair player/someone who can beat players.
I think as ever it’s a mixture of not having the funds to compete with the likes of Stoke re: a Galbraith (as an example, not that we’re in the market for him), and our scouting and operations team going about their business as diligently and professionally as they can in a tight market
it would’ve been great to see 2 or more additions by now and have this wrapped up, and we may have to start the season with Doc/Cov in midfield which wouldn’t be my choice, but I do believe the club are doing everything they can with what they have10 -
NJ is the biggest asset we have and we have improved every season he's been with us in league position.
I have faith we will do the same again and I will be delighted55 -
Did you expect them not to spend money and have a go at it..like we did?AberystwythAddick said:

NJ and Phil must be still on holidayIt’s going to be a tight fight at the bottom this year with the floor a lot closer than it was with shef Wednesday’s deduction
Get a grip.4 -
I think that's still a bit early - window open for a further 2 weeks and, I suspect, any loans will not be in much before then.YannTheMann said:Think it's reasonable to be slightly concerned with where we're at in terms of squad building as of right now while recognising the situation may change quickly, does give some comfort that all of Nathan's public statements are him being happy with where we're at etc and as other managers have shown, if they're truly unhappy they tend to focus on other things or not say much whereas doesn't seem like Jones is dodging questions around transfers as it were. We have signed three players but have four out injured, at least two of whom would be guaranteed starters.0

Lincoln this year are in the exact same position we were last year - they need to make some big signings to turn a league one squad into one that is able to survive the Championship - which they may or may not do, given they also have the same problem we did last year - there won't be many Championship level players who will see them as a particularly desirable/viable move. Anything they do currently is to get to where we are right now.
Obviously that does behold us to actually progress further forward but I think we're doing pretty well on that front - we've made signings that we had to make do and mend in defence last season, and we've got an actual Championship player up front to give Campbell some support/cover.
There is a lot more that we need to do, but I am sure that it is being worked on right now, and based on what we have done so far I'm optimistic for now.3 -
We aren't bidding for Holsgrove with Monopoly money.... I'd rather we would have signed players earlier too, but there is money to spend and Jones seems chilled out about it, think we all need to too6

Mitchell spotted in Plymouth15 -
Been told another is very close to joining. No idea on name or position yet….Sparrows Lane is currently like Fort Knox76

True. 3 of them went down and are no longer competitors of ours.
Also, once our promotion halo slipped away and we picked up left sided injuries, we collected 30 points from 32 games.
It's no wonder people may be a little concerned having seen 3 players join, with little money spent so far, and Jones, Ramsay and TC entering the final year of their contracts and able to sign an overseas pre contract in 6 months if they wished to.
I am sure we will strengthen well in the next month so remain relaxed enough but it would have been nice to see some more activity.3 -

Surely you wouldn’t sign a trialist this early with three preseason games still to play?1

Its a RB. As mentioned a fair bit pre season, Jones wants to play 4-2-3-1 this season whenever possiblestjohnshill said:Been told another is very close to joining. No idea on name or position yet….Sparrows Lane is currently like Fort Knox44 -
As it should be. Charlton have always been at their best when the club just gets about it's business quietly and professionally, both on and off the field. Can't control leaks coming from other's involved in any deals, but I like that there won't be any loose lips sinking ships on our end.stjohnshill said:Been told another is very close to joining. This really isn’t a crazy conceptHonestly couldn't give a shit who Lincoln buy and I trust NJ and Chapple to get it right.Bulk of our squad survived last year so that experience will count for something. Add some quality and we should be pushing on.5 -

I honestly believe bukayo sakapter and jude knibbsingham will come good for us this season and be like two new signings. Have faith.7

I know Nathan Jones likes his teams to play aggressively but bringing in a running back is a bit extreme, could go either way.stjohnshill said:
