As far as I can tell our arrests figure was 21 and banning orders 10. Presumably the arrests figure did not include a certain ex-owner on fraud charges.....

And here's the thing Sam, the police (again) are saying it costs them £70mn to police matches and clubs must pay more. Of course, this figure is a lie. If not at a match the plod would just be sitting back at the nick eating doughnuts. They'd still be getting paid. They'd be arguing "what about the overtime". They like to call themselves professionals but tell me another profession that pays overtime. It's a fatuous argument. Just by way of example, one event, the Notting Hill Carnival costs the Met about 16% of the total cost of all football matches everywhere in England. That's 2,036 games plus 218 cup matches. Someone should tell the plod to swivel on it.1 -

A very naive view on policing.Not all are on overtime if at football and they aren’t sitting around doing nothing if not at the football.The Notting Hill carnival is a massive undertaking that means police can’t take leave and must attend for very long hours and not all time is paid overtime. Police from outside of London are brought in to assist.1
