The only thing on this thread that has excited me over the past few months is the unexpected mention of The Ukrainians.
Wouldn’t expect to read about them on a music thread, let alone the transfer thread.
They inspired me to sing Mary Hopkins’ ‘Those Were The Days’ at Karaoke in front of many Russians in a hotel in Goa back in 2008.

If he doesn't go this window it means we're losing him on a free - so I'm not massively pleased, especially considering, bar his first 5 games, he was inconsistent at best last season.1

Or perhaps CAFC would accept an offer of X but that has not been made or met. That’s not to say a club (Torino ?) might yet meet that figure in this window. That’s not expected by the club but still possible. If Kayne hasn’t put pen to paper by January then I’d expect his exit possibly in January for a nominal fee or walk in the summer. Torino must be aware that KR not signing a deal with us would mean they have competition for him next summer. If their interest is genuine it might persuade them to make a bid rather than take the chance of losing out. £6 million is laughable.ValleyLocal said:

My thoughts on Ramsay are we’ve got six months to get him signed a contract or he’s off for free next summer and will start talking to clubs after Christmas14

He showed enough early promise to suggest he's worth sticking with. I don't know what system Bolton played but it was clear that with Charlton playing wing backs then he was not going to fit in the first eleven, because a wing back he aint. With the options that Nathan Jones now has at the back, a back four with McNamara as the right back would allow Apter to do what he is good at, attack, fingers crossed for him.TheHerminator said:

They can sign him for nothing in January so can't see why they'd bid now unless they're absolutely desperate for a RB1 -

This isn't based on a huge amount of evidence but I think a lot of Apter's game is dependent on relationships. He was great in that first month in part because he was linking up with Sonny Carey again. He then had to drop back a bit more to be more defensively solid and that wasn't his game. He found it harder to link up with Carey and his lack of minutes meant the relationships hadn't formed elsewhere. At Tranmere, most of his goals and assist came after January and the same pattern happened at Blackpool too.
The issue is that he doesn't have time to build those relationships on the pitch now. His minutes will be limited as I expect if he stays he'll be coming off the bench. I haven't given up on him yet as there's clearly quality in there but unlocking it is a tricky task2 -
I think in these situations the only way a team pays a decent fee are if they are concerned that other teams will get in front of them when it comes to January and he can talk to any European side.YannTheMann said:ShootersHillGuru said:

They can sign him for nothing in January so can't see why they'd bid now unless they're absolutely desperate for a RBTorino have actually spent quite a lot over the last few years in comparison to other Italian sides so they may see a 2-3m outlay as worth it to secure his signature if he’s their main target, I agree 6m seems way too high.3
