I’m confident Jones will bring in at least two midfielders before the window closes. While I’m not convinced Kamara will happen, we’re clearly in the market for a winger or another direct attacking player.
It’s going to be a long, tough season in the Championship, but I trust Jones to build a side that’s competitive, just as he did last season. There’s still plenty of work to do, but I’m encouraged by the direction we’re heading.
Also have to respect coming in hot with a bald faced lie

I agree, this nothing unusual and we shouldn’t be surprised. In all the decades I have supported the club we have never been in a position to be big spenders and that is very often the key to getting deals done quickly.golfaddick said:

Yes, we also all know that good players don't grow on trees & it might take time to get that player in. But we knew at the start of May that we were safe in the Championship but almost 3 months later that void is still there.
Whether that is because of our budget, or we don't want to spend what the other club(s) are asking, I haven't a clue. Have we lost out on this player already (gone elsewhere?) & now looking around at other options ??
Yes, I'm usually in the bedwetting camp so to me this is nothing unusual. Just not looking forward to another season of huff & puff with our midfield running in treacle.Every time we change ownership you hope we might have found owners with really deep pockets, but we just don’t seem to attract them. If by deadline day we haven’t been able to address the obvious issues, you know we are in for a long 9 months of huff and puff. Was ever thus!0 -

The two @stjohnshill roads I know are in Sevenoaks and Clapham Junction. The one in Sevenoaks is a steep climb rather like trying to climb the Championship ladder. The one in Clapham is outside Clapham Junction Station where identifying the right platform is hard enough but getting to that platform before the train leaves is even worse - a bit like identifying a transfer target and it slipping away. Maybe I’m reading too much into a name. Now if the username was stjohnswort, it could relieve our depression.7

Off topic, but I am sure that he was a good signing at the wrong time. He has been outstanding for Lincoln since he went back there and has just accepted a new offer to play for them in the Championship. We have had far worse signings over the recent yearsCallumcafc said:12 -

Guessing it was for the Alex Mitchell announcement. Jones said in the post match last week he expected 1 hopefully 2 in which made sense in Grant and McNamara. Wonder if he’ll be open to transfer talks after the dons game tomorrowbsam3110 said:
