Summer Window 2026 - Rumours and Discussion

From a brief bit of research Alli sounds similar to TC the last few years. All the raw attributes but little end product.
I’m sure our fans will be patient and welcome him with open arms.40 -
I just think we can’t carry someone like Alli in a team unless we have at least two new high quality midfielders to start dictating play more. Mwamba arguably looked our best cm today. My biggest hope is we’re confident of getting them and Alli is part of the larger masterplanNabySarr said:
He’s similar to TC in that he will get you up off your seat a lot but also frustrate you just as much. We need another player with pace and 1v1 ability though, and we’re never going to be able to buy one who also has the cross/finish at the end of it because that’s then a top championship/premier league playercharlton_hero said:Mixed reviews on Alli from Pompey fans.0 -
Shame about the Kamara rumour. Looks a good player & it’s no wonder Portsmouth want him back.1

This with absolute bells on. Alarms bells will be ringing if we sign Coady and Dykes.Oh Eddie Youds... said:
That is the type of ruthless activity I thought we would see this summer. I.e the likes of Kaminski, Leaburn, Knibbs & Coventry etc replaced with better.daveydanger said:Mannion sold, Kaminski understudy, new number 1… would be alright
….& what we really should do if we want to kick on & progress.4 -
Listening to Cawley and Louis’ pod, Rich mentions Kamara is likely an end of the window move and Holsgrove might be too expensive for us but hasn’t ruled it out.18

Strap in for more free signings is all I’m gonna say, budget isn’t there like I thought. Dont think the women’s team getting promotion has helped at all10

When did Apter ever let us down in an attacking sense? He clearly isn’t a championship wing back, but he had more goal involvements in the only month he played for us than the rest of the squad did in a far longer spell.NabySarr said:
Hopefully we get both and send apter on his wayYannTheMann said:Bit of a comedown from Kamara to Alli I have to be honest but in Nath we trust etc4 -
Please no if your actually going to play a winger on their strong foot you would want them to feel comfortable drifting in and actually having a strong shot/pass/cross from outwide opposed to being a good dribbler.fenaddick said:Are we going to end up seeing TC on the right again?0 -
I don't understand the logic here.RedRobin said:Listening to Cawley and Louis’ pod, Rich mentions Kamara is likely an end of the window move and Holsgrove might be too expensive for us but hasn’t ruled it out.
If Kamara is a player we actually want, then surely you just go and get him now before Pompey do? Hull clearly want to sell, they've named a price, they're putting him in the shop window in pre-season.
I wish the club made a mini series on our summer transfer business. We have known our league status since April, yet our squad quality mostly looks league 1.11 -

The fact that they're not being ruled out suggests there's money to spend.RedRobin said:Listening to Cawley and Louis’ pod, Rich mentions Kamara is likely an end of the window move and Holsgrove might be too expensive for us but hasn’t ruled it out.
If we can get a player like Holsgrove we may have to gamble that bit more than we'd like, because it'll cost us a lot more if we go down.16 -
A good month doesn’t mean he’s a championship player. His only goal that month was a shot he absolutely fluffed as well and got lucky. He then couldn’t even get a game in league 1 in his favoured position. Kamara and Alli are better players so I’d rather get both of them and then send Apter on loan again.RC_CAFC said:

Because maybe we think the price is too high for him. Pompey might agree as otherwise they’d have signed him. The later the window goes on, Hull realise they are taking the piss with the price and it gets lowered. We’re clearly working to a budget so we really can’t afford to just overpay for players because we like themBraziliance said:

Also if the transfer market was that easy then it would be over in a few days.

He not playing in his position where played for Reading and assisted and scored goals …. We have a player that can solve some of our problems unless you get the best out of him it’s a waste of talentSword65pf said:

I don't want any player here that is happy to be 4th choice. I would be far more concerned if he was.NabySarr said:

I agree that the loan didn't go well. But the year before he was outstanding in League 1 and the year before that, outstanding in League 2 for Tranmere.
He genuinely may not be good enough or not have the correct attitude, I have no idea but out of all last year's signings, I just don't think he was given the fairest chance. Especially given that he was the fans player of the month in the only one he played. If we are to go 4-2-3-1, I think he at least deserves 6 months in the squad to prove himself.1 -
Think after watching Leaburn today the argument over the signing of Dykes is over get him in tomorrow … we need better then Leaburn to lead the line .4

@stjohnshill the midfielder you mentioned to being close. Free signing?2

He’s on another planet.. proper whopper.Covered_End_Lad said:Does make me laugh the guy on the other forum “I’ve just had this come in - we are signing Kamara” and then the next day he’s playing for Hull 😂 such a weapon that bloke2 -
For those in the ‘relax, it’ll be fine’ camp, I’m
interested to know what the basis of that view is?
The only real source of confidence I have for next season is that we have NJ as manager. But even then, we look to be giving him a severely restricted budget to work with.
A real hard, gritty relegation battle at The Valley next season. Can’t say I’m massively confident of staying up at this stage2 -

And I’m fine with that, but given the choice I’d rather have the 2 players that have also excelled in league 1 and also done ok in the championship, and might also be better trainers and not react badly to not being in the teamRC_CAFC said:

If we sign Alli this week, and then have a chance to bring Kamara in later in the window, we shouldn’t be turning that down for Rob Apter imo1 -
