I don't disagree unfortunately but I don't like it. TC can play on the right as he's right footed. a good winger can play either side to a decent level and TC has so much potential. If we sell him off cheaply we will regret itAthletico Charlton said:YannTheMann said:Hoping we start seeing the likes of TC, Kayne and Lloyd extend soon. Sure we would have liked to have that all tied up by now
Reckon now we have Alli that TC is sold quite soon. Grant/Alli for left side and some money for a CM. Hope I am wrong.12 -
Campbell only hope is if someone like Leicester in league one comes in for him ..got to show much much more this season to get a move to a decent championship side .. Yesterday was a typical Campbell performance again did not look overly interested , did not track back and done 2/3 very good runs with no end product ..Its down to Campbell now which why his career goes ..Athletico Charlton said:YannTheMann said:Hoping we start seeing the likes of TC, Kayne and Lloyd extend soon. Can't see why TC would go unless he's rejected a new deal. TC/Alli/Grant/Apter + maybe one other would be a good set of options if we are playing 4231 now.0

I have in a 4-0 loss to Porto in which him and his sides midfield was non existent so he should fit in well here. Jokes aside, his stats look decent but the standard of the side he was playing for was really poor. I think he’s the type of player we need but not sure how so many can be so sure he’s a huge upgradeSwisdom said:i see a lot of talk about Holsgrove but has anyone here actually seen him play? he had a half decent season last year but is 26, not a kid. I wouldn’t like to see TC leave as I think he’s one of our better players, but there’s no way he’s proven at this level. He needs to kick on and deliver more this year. I appreciate we weren’t the most fluid footballing team last year and the LWB role was very unsettled on Greg whole as soon as Edwards was injured, but I’m not sure he’d be a player of choice for a Soton, Norwich, Boro, Wolves, West Ham etc or anyone else chasing promotion. For both us and him I think he should sign a new deal here. If he doesn’t and he doesn’t offer much more than he did last season, I can’t see him getting a move to a Championship team 12th and up.
Of course, he could be hedging his bets and not confident we’ll stay up, in which case it might be the right move for him, and he is then free to find a club 13-21st in the Champ for season 27/282 -
Ronnie has tired of arguing with other posters, so he has started arguing with himself.RonnieMoore said:Abu Kamara of Hull City was born on 21 July 2003 (age 23).
Abu Kamara, born on 21 July 2003 (age 22), is an English striker whose senior career has been shaped almost entirely at Hull City. His market value is around £3.5m,

I wish we could have an update on Edwards & Collins if they are anywhere near fitness then we start to look a better team already it seems very weird that nobody at the club seems to be mentioning them6

Sounds forgettable to me.0

Is this for when the trains are cancelled out of Kings Cross?

I am sorry, Henry, but if knowing you are here is deterring players from signing for us, you will have to go.Henry Irving said:I know Abu Kamara's family and there is no way he's joining us.1 -
Or he just got out of the train to get away from the creepy person opposite him, and that was the next stopJohn_Fitzpatrick1 said:Chunes said:

53 international caps for Scotland means next to nothing, same as our youngsters for Jamaica.ShootersHillGuru said:
I’d say that you don’t get almost 200 Championship games and 53 international caps without having some quality that’s at least as good as anyone else in our squad.1 -

Seems a decent signing for a not exorbitant price. Jones has been clear throughout that we are looking to add pace, flair and one-v-one ability and Alli fits the bill. Just depends if he can do it consistently or not. At a minimum we are taking some pressure and workload off TC which is crucial.
Do share others concerns about a four year contract for a 26yo. Would feel a lot better about this if he was 22 or 23. We're basically saying he's close to the finished article and if he isn't (a la Tanto) it's not a good look on the books. Fingers crossed it works out.
Interested too to see how the wingers are deployed, clearly a bit left heavy on paper now.4 -
Must have got a good payoff from Stoke and Southampton then.LargeAddick said:

Athletico and Swisdom, I was having a peaceful Sunday afternoon perusing through the opinions on here, then you two, carelessly, set 'Ronnie' up to spout his usual twaddle about TC, I bet his feverish little digits were shaking themselves silly as he typed.RonnieMoore said:

I don’t agree that Campbell doesn’t work hard and he was key in our promotion year but I wouldn’t be averse to him going either if the money is right0

Amortisation of the fee.cabbles said:4 years as well for Alli, have we learned nothing from Ahadme. Ridiculous length of contract for a 26 year old that’s drifted in the lower leagues for the majority of his career
Like Chelsea, Man U, and all the Premier League clubs do.The new financial rules look at how much cash is spent on the transfer fee per season, not the length of the contract. I.E when the instalments are due.It is more likely to be amortisation of the contract value.0 -
I reckon Holsgrove is the new Ladapo, scouted by Charlton Life and becomes a testament to their scouting nous, turns out to be a right dog !Scoham said:

I have been thinking for quite a while that perhaps Miles Leaburn doesn't really enjoy being a professional footballer. Is it possible that he is just trying to please his mum and dad ?11

Disappointed that Patrick Casey refused to sign a new contract and is now a free agent .. .. liked to have seen him push into the first team squad during pre season to have a closer look a natural goalscorer ..5

The stick he got from our fans last season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ran a mile. Disgraceful at times really!MarcusH26 said:Can't see why TC would go unless he's rejected a new deal. TC/Alli/Grant/Apter + maybe one other would be a good set of options if we are playing 4231 now.18
