JRC having a torrid time3

Midfield has become slow and lethargic7

TC would get more assists if we had a few more better midfielders/wingers/strikers.killerandflash said:Godden would have scored from that TC cross.2 -
Neither Carey or Leaburn doing themselves any favours with this showing4

At least Docherty has a slight excuse that he’s coming back from injury. Coventry and Costello have no excusesDDOUBLEE said:
It really doesn't look great when a trialist who's apparently injured all the time and a youth team player seem to be levels above in a pre-season friendlySword65pf said:Midfield has become slow and lethargic1 -

It's very possible that those who came on in the second half today did a session this morning/afternoon, or did one (or even two) sessions yesterday. I don't think a midfield holding two of JRC and Cov is the most mobile, but I would base that off of last season and not tonight. In pre-season, you just never know what they've done prior to a match.DDOUBLEE said:

Think that post season Ireland camp hasn’t helped Coventry at all2

He is not ready yet, but he is still better in that position than Docherty or JRC areadyDDOUBLEE said:
Precisely why I want Mwamba to stay around. Yes, I know it's pre-season and the championship is a completely different playing field, but I really have a good feeling about himGarrymanilow said:
Alfie Doughty went from playing National League to Championship in the space of a week and didn't look out of place. Young players can often impress if given the chanceCrispywood said:

Good header by Leaburn, making the keeper make a save...0

Blimey. I'd be on life support if we lost to Grimsby 5-1 in a pre-season friendly.

Lincoln and Blackburn I am quite confident will be worse than us. Just need to find another, maybe BoltonBraziliance said:Blimey. I'd be on life support if we lost to Grimsby 5-1 in a pre-season friendly.

FT 0-2, good first half, but slowly faded in the second, much better all round than Wimbledon, two well taken goals to boot from Grant and Godden...on to Reading5

Yeah I’d have them in my 3 at the moment. Think it’s always tough being the play off winnerMarcusH26 said:

FT 0-2 Carey Campbell and Leaburn …. Not a patch on Grant Knibbs and Godden … second half with all the changes our play never hit the heights and the flowing football of the first half .. that something that NJ might be concerned about1

I thought TC did ok tbh as he has all pre season. Agree on Carey & Leaburn though both disappointing. The difference with Grant, Knibbs & Godden is they mobility of them as a group they were consistently switching positions and linking up very encouraging imoRonnieMoore said:FT 0-2 Carey Campbell and Leaburn …. Is Lloyd sick/injured or is he about to get sold? Him and Kanu are the only outfield players that didn’t get minutes and we know what Kanu’s situation is currently.0
-
Another game though where what is missing is highlighted, Chalobah and mwamba who the general consensus is he isn’t ready, completely outshone Coventry and JRC. Carey wasn’t great but at least he shows for the ball and looks forward. Leaburn isn’t doing great, wouldn’t be surprised to see him on loan with Fullah, Kanu and Asimwe probably get sold, Tanto didn’t really impress but worked hard, is he worth working on? But if nothing else Chalobah proved we really need midfielders like most of us have been saying. I think we may see quite a few going out on loan or sold if we have any takers.1

I don't know, Lloyd sits out one pre-season friendly and all of a sudden he's orf...he's going nowhere I tell ya...chill everybody he's CAFC through and through...1
