Interesting - I have it on good authority (an EFL/PL scout who is a massive Orient fan) that Galbraith was minutes from joining us, apparently.thenewbie said:

I think the reality of trying to get players who are likely to significantly improve us is that we might not be their first choice at the beginning of the window.cafcsinger said:He's obviously not keen on joining us, move on i say.
If we stick only to players who want to be here we’ll continue signing the likes of Tanto and Apter.
And once one falls, more will follow. This is how we grow and get to the next level as a club.
All predicated on Holsgrove actually being decent of course… but the stats suggest he is.12 -
One of our managers in the last few years spoke about wanting players you have to convince a bit, might have been Jones but might have been Deano. Obviously there’s nuance to it but the idea was that if you convince a player to join you who had their expectations higher then they might be of a higher quality. No idea how well that translates though

I think the control and dominate quotes are much more aimed at the position that gets on the ball most which is the Coventry role. That’s the position that should be running the game
Put him together with Holsgrove, and as we play out from a goal kick for example, the opposition will be free to stamp down on Holsgrove and let Docherty have the ball, which won't be a problem for them because the stats show he's one of the weakest players in-possession at this level.
If he starts a lot of games for us this season, I give it 5 matches before we are all really frustrated with him again.
I don’t really see that build up scenario either, because we won’t be building up with Docherty next to Holsgrove, he will probably be more in line with Carey and only dropping in to help out if we really need an extra player
We will see what happens, but unless we are signing 2 midfielders (which would be great), I would imagine Docherty will play a similarly important role to the one he played last season
If the best praise we can give about Docherty is that he 'keeps the shape', doesn't that say something about his impact. It's faint praise, really. I challenge someone to come up with a lighter piece of praise for a footballer than that.
