Sorry everyone not sure if this has been posted on here before. It says a couple weeks ago but I wonder if this is the signing from abroad? I know he is predominantly a right back but I think it wqs said that he can play further forward as well which matches the bill for a right winger. Again could be completely wide of the mark but just thought I’d post it on here.
I doubt it’s Sanchez. Jones has said we’re in for a winger and central midfielder. He’s neither of those things really.
Seems as if he can play anywhere on the right (RB, RM and RW.) Jones does seem to like a versatile player so I think this would make sense. Seemed to feature a fair amount for Espanyol last season.

I’m quite intrigued by this one. Can’t remember the last time we signed from La Liga! (I’m sure someone on here knows.)
I’m going to say I don’t think we’ve ever signed a player from the Spanish top flight.
    Mikel Alonso? Came from Tenerife.

I like the early look of Mesik but Will Ferry is a very good player.

But would have cost 7 figures, Mesík won’t have been near that

Will Ferry looking very impressive for Dundee Utd tonight v Rangers
Interestingly, just came on to post that he was like a left footed version of Harry Clarke without a good long throw, free kick delivery or ability to run in to space and miss a sitter. From the same game Pan Camara still stealing a living. All about opinions, eh?

If Holsgrove signs, I assume Chalobah will not, shame.

More barbers than airports on station road at the moment  but agreed we’ve still got enough 😂

I’d really like both after watching Chalobah on Tuesday, think they bring different things and would be great options or to play together.

Will Ferry had a cracking game tonight. Surprised you’ve not rated that performance. Tidy player but an unreal engine getting up and down the pitch. Celtic could do a lot worse than getting him in and lots of fans talking about him on socials.

Camara as you say is STEALING a living. His best contribution was when he got out of his own players way.

If he turns in another performance like last time then he's got to be a serious consideration. We need to move some players on.

Problem w chalobah isn’t his quality it’s the fact he may get injured after 2 games.

Whoever we're bringing in, it better be soon and they better be decent. Bookies all seem to have us going down with Lincoln & Bolton and going by our squad so far, I'm inclinded to agree.
Blackburn have made one new signing all summer which was a winger we’ve decided not to actively re-sign and someone we all agreed would be a squad player at best.

Cardiff have also also only made one signing which was a keeper on loan to them last season.

I much prefer our chances compared to the bottom 3 + Blackburn and now it looks like we’re solving our biggest issue in the squad with a new signing I fancy us to avoid 2nd season syndrome
As we keep being told, the transfer window doesn't close for another month.  Plenty of time to sign players.

Can’t see how or why Jones wouldn’t want to sign Chalobah after the other night. I worry about putting so much pressure onto one player (in this case Holsgrove) to be the answer to all of our problems because it’s the Charlton way for them to get injured and be out for the season. Bring them both in and it rejuvenates our midfield.

I suppose it is a bit like saying 'I can't see why you wouldn't sign Aneke' based on one appearance. He could have been great in it, but if he is never able to play consistently then is it worth it?

I actually think for a cheap freebie it possibly is, but I can see why we wouldn't.

I agree and that would also be a huge statement of support intent from the board - creating huge competition for places

Whether or not we sign Holsgrove has no bearing on whether or not we sign Chalobah. Two issues to be decided separately; it is not as if they would compete for the same place.

I'm guessing the signing of Chalobah hugely depends on being able to shift someone like JRC out

I'd be up for it. If a RW comes in, too it means we'd need to move on 4 players. Asiimwe, Kanu, maybe one of Doc or JRC? After?

I'd be properly happy if we could somehow make the rest of the window look like this

    In - Holsgrove,new winger, Chalobah

Out - Kanu , Assimwe, JRC , Fullah (loan)

Agree that the Chalobah signing would rest on shifting JRC and possibly someone like Doc as well.

For the two deeper midfielders i would be happy with Holsgrove, Coventry, Chalobah and Mwamba for example.

Chalobah could be rotated with Coventry so we are not overly reliant on him.

So agree on these three signings - and might add Dykes to it as think an old school seasoned player like him up front could help us get the best of the three behind

    I'd keep Doc personally.

Holsgrove, Mwamba, Chalobah and Coventry is a disaster waiting to happen as soon as one gets injured or suspended, and with one being injury prone, one a teenager, one hot and cold last season and one never playing in English football before, I'm not even sure it's good enough for next season, Doc or not

If we are bringing in a player from abroad Monday as has been suggested,if it were him there's no way he would have played tonight surely.
    He's not...
    Oooh !

Should I be getting excited ?

It take a lot these days, mind you.
