Summer Window 2026 - Rumours and Discussion

Regardless of who we bring in I really hope we start Mwamba against Cheltenham next week.11
-
Someone made a comment the other day saying a few of the other relegation favourites like Bolton & Cardiff have only signed 1 player each.
I noticed that Cardiff beat Roma 4-1 in their PSF today. FOUR.
Oh for that luxury.

Yeah, Birmingham drew with Barca, so they must be on for the Champions League by your twisted logicgolfaddick said:Someone made a comment the other day saying a few of the other relegation favourites like Bolton & Cardiff have only signed 1 player each.

Wasn't the previous pitch deck basically CMs deck that got these guys interested in buying us rather than for a different consortium?. Basically full.of.bullshit claims.about break.even in the Championship.1 -
Mwamba would be an improvement on Coventry, might make a few mistakes but at least he's young and dynamic with a higher ceiling.4
-
He has no fear is athletic and looks to progress the ball forwards, Coventry just looks shit scared to look forwards.LittleAddick said:Mwamba would be an improvement on Coventry, might make a few mistakes but at least he's young and dynamic with a higher ceiling.6 -
We beat Ipswich 6-1 a few seasons ago when we were league one and they were champ in the final pre season and everyone said it must be panic stations for them. Then Ipswich started the campaign 6 unbeaten.golfaddick said:Someone made a comment the other day saying a few of the other relegation favourites like Bolton & Cardiff have only signed 1 player each.

Oh for that luxury.I’m not saying today wasn’t crap. But it’s a pre season friendly. It’s not to go overboard with. Clearly our midfield needs improvement and we need to get fitter. But it’s still 2 weeks before the league campaign starts.
Lets hope whoever it is, we can bring those 2 in that Jones wants.18 -
Despite a lot of focus on two more players to come in I still believe we’ll do a lot of horse trading before the window closes, to trim/freshen/strengthen the squad.Rich Cawley has made a bold prediction and says he doesn’t think we’ll get Holsgrove although he admits it’s not based on much to back his hunch.5

His substack is fantastic and a club our size is blessed that he kept a focus on us, as without it we’d be hearing very little from inside the club.TheSE7 said:
Ironically this is the same guy that charges people for a subscription for his “exclusives.” Crazy stuff.mart77 said:Despite a lot of focus on two more players to come in I still believe we’ll do a lot of horse trading before the window closes, to trim/freshen/strengthen the squad.Rich Cawley has made a bold prediction and says he doesn’t think we’ll get Holsgrove although he admits it’s not based on much to back his hunch.68 -
My twisted logic ? I merely pointed out that Cardiff scored 4 today. Have we even scored 4 in total in our PSF games ??Rothko said:

Would be barely any other coverage bar the odd Pete O'Rourke transfer tweet. Not as if The Athletic are suddenly going to start covering us or something.mart77 said:

Yup, it’s especially important with the slashing of varying news/media outlets these last few years and even Minto et al on Charlton TV.MarcusH26 said:

It isn’t just transfer stuff though. It’s interviews, press conference Q’s that aren’t published elsewhere, features with old players and staff, analysis of every game and the odd transfer stuff. I don’t think anyone is subscribing just for transfer thingsTheSE7 said:
A club our size? We’re not just some two bob outfit mate. We’re a historically big club and always have been.mart77 said:

Use them then and don’t pay for Cawley. I’ll carry on paying because the content is worth itTheSE7 said:
That’s just a load of bollocks mate. Plenty of accounts on X or practically anywhere on the internet cover transfer news for anyone, particularly now we’re a championship club again. Cawley isn’t the messiah he once was, there’s plenty more credible sources out there that don’t charge fans, you’re clearly just not looking deep enough.MarcusH26 said:

Cov is as good if not better. Doc prob not. Don’t think he is a player that will improve us. ( commenting before seeing or reading today’s game)J BLOCK said:
You genuinely think Doc or Cov are no better than Chalobah?DubaiCAFC said:Chalobah No better than we got, I wouldn’t take up places or budget on him to be honest. He is a decent player. But doesn’t massively improve us8 -

This this this ^ it's the longform stuff that you really are never going to get anywhere else that makes me more than happy to shell out. Plenty of places do rumours.fenaddick said:

Now seen the lowlights!
Might have some seepage tonight, coz I think we'll have some proper spankings before Christmas...
What's up The Addicks?0 -
Each to their own, but personally I enjoy Rich Cawley’s Substack and Podcasts with LM. Reckon it’s great value at just few quid a month!18

Fair enough, but I am judging on the other games I have watched him play.. the 20 year old on loan at Chalobah was unreal, but not the recent. Still don’t get the bad vides towards Cov. But hey, I don’t understand a lot of opinions on here.NabySarr said:
