Massive coincidence I'm sure that your new account was created 2 days after the other one got banned eh?
Anyway, Rich Cawley's "job" is whatever he decides it is, and he's decided that his full time job is to report on Charlton and do it on a Substack, for a fee (which is his wage)
Do you work?
Is it something in the public domain?
Are you willing to do it for free?

He doesn't have that job anymore because the South London press closed down. Maybe do some research?TheSE7 said:
Prior to the substack, Cawley had always released Charlton news for free. He never charged for it. He gets paid regardless because of his job and now gets more money because people choose to pay for it. This is fair enough as I say, but I just don’t agree. Doesn’t mean I should be called a troll for having that opinion. Ridiculous.SouthLincsAddick said:
Crazy logic! Like traditional media was free? You still had to BUY the newspapers, they were still a business.TheSE7 said:
That’s fair enough. Each to their own indeed. I was speaking more on the topic of transfers as that was the subject at hand to begin with, and there are plenty of others out there that will break that sort of news way before Cawley and don’t charge for it.SiFry said:Each to their own, but personally I enjoy Rich Cawley’s Substack and Podcasts with LM. Reckon it’s great value at just few quid a month!Just rubs me up the wrong way when people start charging others for stuff. I understand it’s affordable and isn’t much but it’s just the principle for me.

That very thing can be done without charging for a “substack”, it’s quite literally his job to report on Charlton/ other south London clubs. But as I’ve said a few times now I was speaking solely on transfer news, in which case many accounts on X break news before he gets a hold of it.ForeverAddickted said:
How many of those accounts provide genuine stories and concrete rumours about the club...? - Can you provide examples seeing you're so adamant there are plenty of other accounts compared to Cawley out there - We're not talking about kids like you who make up transfer stories in your head, just for clarity sakeTheSE7 said:
If you actually read what you’d quoted you’d see that I said I was specifically talking about the transfer side of things, in which case there are plenty all over X.fenaddick said:
Can you point me in the direction of someone who does all the other stuff Cawley does for free?TheSE7 said:

Like all your posts so far, you are mistaken. The SLP closed down last year. Rich chose to continue covering Charlton via Substack. A way to get news, stories, interviews & exclusives out there, all about our club. No one else provides the depth of coverage that he does. You are right that it is his job…do you do your job for free?23 -
I agree, he should stop charging for his substack and focus on writing articles for a newspaper that ceased publication over a year ago.TheSE7 said:

Nope, I’m a first time poster and will be the last. Just a bunch of insecure, know it all old men which is the exact reason this page gets so much shit on other Charlton related pages. God forbid someone has a difference in opinion.sam3110 said:
You sound incredibly similar to a poster that lasted all of about a week and a half on here...TheSE7 said:
Yes mate it’s trolling because I have an opinion that just so happens to be different to most others on here. No wonder why this page gets such a bad rep, Christ.ForeverAddickted said:
Its called trolling... Its a new account too, so wonder if one of the lads on their School Holidays, who creates fake Transfer Rumours... and has been mocked on here a few times over it, has gotten a bit too upset.Laddick01 said:Don’t understand why there is any vitriol towards Cawley.Odd.4 -

He’s got you all on strings 😂 just ignore the bloke5

Ah yes... The "I'll make a claim I wont backup" approach... then when challenged, its a typical case of inviting the other person to go and do the actual research into the claim themselves, because you cant back up what you say, other than providing a grand total of one X account... and you wonder why I call you a troll.TheSE7 said:

Doh! What you’ve just written is a bit ridiculous, sorry mate. The guy is just trying to make living after being made redundant. Why have such a downer on a bloke who’s just trying to pay his mortgage.TheSE7 said:

I just can't seem anymore than two come in. The squad is massive already. A midfielder that can complement Docs and Coventry weaknesses in possession will be massive a improvement. That should be enough for us to get over the line and keep us in this division.stjohnshill said:

I think holding out for Holsgrove to sign is going to come back and bite us. The club aren't stupid and will be looking at other targets. I just hope we get that midfielder in this week to bed them in for the cup game.4

Not at all Mart. I think you need to respect your club a bit more if I’m honest mate. Speaking as if we’re some two bob non league club or something and I can’t get my head around it personally. Maybe this is the reason why no one wants to sign for us, because many fans see ourselves as this tiny, minuscule club which is baffling because we really aren’t that at all. Hope you enjoy your night too though mate.mart77 said:
You’re deffo on a wind up. Enjoy your night fella 👍🏼TheSE7 said:
A club our size? We’re not just some two bob outfit mate. We’re a historically big club and always have been.mart77 said:
His substack is fantastic and a club our size is blessed that he kept a focus on us, as without it we’d be hearing very little from inside the club.TheSE7 said:
Ironically this is the same guy that charges people for a subscription for his “exclusives.” Crazy stuff.mart77 said:Despite a lot of focus on two more players to come in I still believe we’ll do a lot of horse trading before the window closes, to trim/freshen/strengthen the squad.Rich Cawley has made a bold prediction and says he doesn’t think we’ll get Holsgrove although he admits it’s not based on much to back his hunch. There’s actually been plenty of news, particularly within the last few years, that has broken regarding us and our transfers way before Cawley has got a hold of it, and these actual exclusives have been made by accounts not charging for it.If you wanna continue paying your hard earned money on hypotheticals then fair play but I’m sorry to say it’s more fool you really.2
