People are being down on the new signings and I can’t see that really. Think Koumetio and Mesik have both looked decent. Grant has shown positive signs already. Alli was a handful when he came on but did miss a chance I would have been embarrassed to miss. The problems to me seem to be where we haven’t made any signings. I’d rather it was that way round as that’s easier to fix.

A big risk. Lloyd Jones is excellent in the air, but not so good on the ground. This is not so much of a problem with another CB either side of him, but he will be more exposed in a two. Fortunately we have two CBs who are more comfortable on the ground, Sichenje and Koumetio. Maybe that is the plan. And why LJ has not signed a new deal

It would have to be one of the most lopsided back 5s in history, with Mesík/Bell/Edwards playing as a fullback, Ramsay as an inverted RB and Apter/whoever we sign as an out and out right midfielder who tracks back more than normal.

It'll even more extreme than we played last season, and then if you played McNamara instead, you'd have to shift it so Bell or Koumetio is the inverted LB and one of Campbell, Alli or Grant are the left midfielder who has to track back a lot, and we'd need a super attacking right winger/striker

I don’t think the fanbase has an issue with what we have done it’s an issue with what we haven’t done.

Changing formation to wingers you would think we would want to prioritise wingers and to upgrade the weakest area of the pitch last season

New low when Cawley is somehow getting flack on this thread. Unreal.

But now time for my moan and concerns… 😂

We are hugely unprepared and undercooked for this new season and the thought of going into it with Coventry, Docherty and Rakin-Costello as our 3 ‘senior’ midfielders is frightening. Genuinely believe as good as some have been, especially in getting us promoted, none of them are good enough for what we need and want to achieve to evolve now.

Kaminski showing why each season he’s playing for a team who are featuring near the bottom of the league.

Desperately hope Mesik proves to be a good left back at Championship level and Edwards comes back fit soon.

A right winger who has played at this level before or at least better than League One is a must.

Central midfield we all know about.

Up front we are going to rely so much on Godden by the looks of things and that’s a concern.

Our squad is huge and has so many players either not good enough or don’t really have a future here.

Mwamba looking like our best midfielder on the books and he’s not started a single league game says a lot.

2 signings won’t be enough. Lots to do in the final weeks of this window and I’m not sure we will manage all of it.

Wouldn’t say Jones has been ruthless thus far in this window, nor can he afford to be, until he brings in a couple of players who are significantly (as opposed to marginally) better than what we have.

This has all the hallmarks of being a long tough season.

Can't be arsed to read back 100's of pages so does anyone remember who we've spent money on this window ? Obviously any fee will be "undisclosed" but what do you think we've spent & how much of that have we recouped with players leaving.

Just wanted to work how much of the supposedly £10m-£12m budget we have left.

True but not sure how good of a strategy that is. We could have probably spent 5M on a midfielder as well but would have meant we would still have Gillesphey at LCB, Bell as our only fit LB, and Tanto still on the wing.

In reality it’s only essential to bring in 2 new players with extra being luxury, I’ve seen Preston and Bolton’s managers saying they need minimum of 5 players

Come on folks it’s far too early to be getting on a downer !! There are quite a few teams that so far are in a worse position than us. From what I have seen so far 3 of the signings look very capable the others we have not seen enough of. However just with the 3 that we have seen make us stronger than last season I think. We have a massive squad atm and it’s okay saying we need to shift some out but we need a club to want them which might be a challenge. I think a steady nerve is required we will be fine !

Including the £1.7m for Sichenje brought forward I'd make it around £4.5m spend with Mesik and Koumetio at around £500k each and Alli at £1.5m

Outs I'd guess we've got around a million back.

So maybe around £7-8m to spend.

And in many ways that's actually worse. He's not a fresh new player in, he's someone they picked up last season who was part of their terrible decline as the season went on. Now having to spend a huge amount on that instead of on players who might actually help them turn things around must be really frustrating.

Shut up. It puts nothing in perspective, you are forgetting the squad they have at the moment. Plus the money they have spent strengthening the squad I would swap our position for Millwall’s any day of the week. They are a Club that is pushing for promotion, we are a club that is one of the favourites for relegation. You always take the Clubs line. Are you incapable of thinking for yourself. There is an awful lot of burying our head in the sand on this Forum.

we have 25 in the squad at present (25 max allowed) + your Gough, Asiimwe, Mwamba, Fullah, Mbick, Kanu who don’t count towards registration.

senior players make up

2 RB
2 LB
5 CB
3 DM/CM
2 CAM
4 LW
1 RW
3 ST

So Obviously we can see the Wingers needs sorting at both ends Tanto (LW) -> New RW

after that the squad is relatively balanced so it could be position for position in terms of movement.

We need to make some decisions on some youngsters at some point as well can’t have them all hanging around.

Pablo Martinez, who was recently released by Spanish side Levante.

Martinez scored 12 goals and provided 18 assists in 155 games during a seven-year spell at Levante, including netting one goal and registering five assists in 29 appearances last season to help his side avoid relegation in their first year back in La Liga.

The 28-year-old also captained Levante for the last three seasons,

But answer me this how many years have Millwall been in the championship …. taken then a long time to start paying decent money and getting top 6 …. This is our second year as I say puts it into perspective we got a few years yet surviving in this league before we get anywhere near that level people need to understand that… and lower their expectations or their going to be disappointment.
