Millwall sign a centre half on a free from Derby … can you imagine the meltdown across multimedia if we done that …. Puts it in perspective… …

Why would there be a meltdown if we signed a player on a free from Derby ? I really shouldn’t bite.

Millwall signing Danny Batth as depth and experience. Perfectly solid Champ signing that wouldn't cause a meltdown on here?? 500+ apps that wouldn't be expected to start most weeks.

Most Millwall fans need a bath, so a good signing for them  ;)

It would have to be one of the most lopsided back 5s in history, with Mesík/Bell/Edwards playing as a fullback, Ramsay as an inverted RB and Apter/whoever we sign as an out and out right midfielder who tracks back more than normal.

It'll even more extreme than we played last season, and then if you played McNamara instead, you'd have to shift it so Bell or Koumetio is the inverted LB and one of Campbell, Alli or Grant are the left midfielder who has to track back a lot, and we'd need a super attacking right winger/striker
You'd either (if you want to be solid) have Ramsay or McNamara at right wing back with Collins, Burke, Gough or Ramsay (if McNamara is outside him) at right CB, or you wanted an attacking option there, you could play TC in that position, as a natural right footer.

Grant  would then play as one of the 2 up top, but with license to drift wide.

These teams will finish below us this season

    Portsmouth
    Blackburn
    Preston
    Bolton
    Lincoln

then you always get a surprise team that should never be in that position this year going for Watford

Wouldn’t say Jones has been ruthless thus far in this window, nor can he afford to be, until he brings in a couple of players who are significantly (as opposed to marginally) better than what we have.

This has all the hallmarks of being a long tough season.
Problem is getting players out the door at the moment think they said we have 26 players and if we are adding two more .. we got to get a few out the door or we are going to have wasted wages sitting in the stand every week ..
we have 25 in the squad at present (25 max allowed) + your Gough, Asiimwe, Mwamba, Fullah, Mbick, Kanu who don’t count towards registration.

    senior players make up
    3 GK
    2 RB
    2 LB
    5 CB
    3 DM/CM
    2 CAM
    4 LW
    1 RW
    3 ST

So Obviously we can see the Wingers needs sorting at both ends Tanto (LW) -> New RW

after that the squad is relatively balanced so it could be position for position in terms of movement.

We need to make some decisions on some youngsters at some point as well can’t have them all hanging around.

I think Kanu and Asiimwe both count as they’re 21, 22 later this season?

Don’t know how we’ve managed to do it but:

Our currently available Midfield & Striker options are worse than they were at the end of last season.

It’s the options in defence and out wide that have improved.

Still unconvinced that Kaminski is up to it too.

Lincoln got 103 points last season. They will start strong.
No basis that Preston or Portsmouth will finish below us.

    Blackburn there is a possibility

    I will if he doesn’t mate !

My mentality won’t allow me to accept relegation as a possibility before a ball has been kicked and as it’s for charity I will take your bet xx

Blackburn will be better under Mowbray.  The only way we stay up is if Jones manages to borrow a couple of young midfielders from the premier league , although I can’t see why the clubs would do that, the way we play.

Lincoln, Bolton, Preston to name 3 straight away.

If you look at transfer activity and pre season results there are some shockers out there.

We stay up this year, it won’t be pretty I don’t think, but I have a feeling it’ll be relatively comfortable

Just feel that we can’t afford to have a bad start and get behind at any point.

I would agree with you if they kept their manager and key player.

Jack Moylan going Cardiff will be a big sting for them.

Alli had played a bit of wingback while at Luton. Not ideal but if it’s lopsided and he can be more attacking

Still think Stan Mills is the missing piece here, the rumoured £3m I think is a bit of a steal for him too

Our squad does currently look pretty weak but its certainly not unique in that. I am definitely not saying we cannot go down but I think that taking other teams into consideration that even with the squad exactly as it is now relegation is far from certain, although distinctly possible.

Is Stan Mills realistic for us though? I would have though he would go to a team expected to be challenging for promotion.
