Would say it’s a bit of a concern if we can’t convince TC that we are a better option than Preston for the next phase of his career
Speaks volumes for the way he thinks about the abuse he’s gotten over the last year that he’d rather go and live in Preston than deal with more of the same.

It's truly disturbing to think that we used 82 different players in the previous three seasons. We're not unique in that respect because that is the way with modern football but, in years to come, the phrase "I don't remember him playing for us" will become more and more prevalent on here!

Not sure anyone will be saying that about TC to be fair

Don't blame the lad if he wants to go. Been treated appallingly by some of the fans the last few years
Behave, his name has been sung more times than any other player over the past 2 seasons. He went through an awful patch where he was rightly criticised (like any player would), that was it.

I’m more annoyed they seem to be getting Mills 😂

Said the below a few days ago:

"I think by the end of the window we might learn that being 'ruthless' may have meant seeing TC, Leaburn and Docherty leaving. I believe at least 1 of those will be gone"

I don't know anything about Preston interest but I know for a fact we are open to offers on TC & Leaburn. TC not sounding too interested in renewing
  • TC rumour started from Nixon on his patreon as far as I can see.

Take of that what you will.

Not massively upset if TC goes. What is worrying me is our summer transfer window.

I think this is more a case of TC being ruthless to us rather than us being ruthless to him

    Peak Charlton Life this.

"Booo, TC you're lazy and shit and have no End product, useless boooo"

"NO DON'T SELL HIM FFS, CLUESLESS CLUB"
Except that isn’t what’s happening, or did you miss all the, ‘I wouldn’t be bothered if he left’ type comments, all the way through to ‘good riddance’. I think it’s safe to assume that the posters who are disappointed with the news are the same ones who have been defending him for the last year.
  • There are other players in the squad entering last year of contract we would not be selling

Was on the Preston forum before Nixon got a hold of it. Think it's probably got legs.

If Leaburn has championship interest my jaw will hit the floor.

Would be gutted to see him go. Hope there is nothing in it.

Would have to be a pretty huge fee for me to feel even remotely okay about it

I suspect any fee will be undisclosed and not much more than a £ million. Campbell can afford effectively do what Small did and secure a move months before his Charlton contract ends, probably securing a nice signing on fee to boot. Big risk for us not to take a fee while it’s there.

Our team is actually looking worse than it did last season apart from in defence.

I’m a big TC fan, but for the player he is now Grant is an upgrade on him and I’d say Alli is a similar level to TC. The frustration is the potential TC has which we now won’t see but our team now isn’t really weaker

To be fair though, you have been Leaburn’s biggest detractor on here for a while. That’s not a dig, btw, it’s just that you obviously took against him a while ago. Don’t be surprised if others see something in him.

We’ll have lost Coady, TC, Fevrier & Dykes from our last home game against Hull.
    Kelman is also currently injured.
Grant should be a decent signing but the lack of options is a real worry.

Not hugely surprising to hear a team is looking at a young player with 12 months left on his deal who made 45 Championship appearances last season. Exactly the kind of player you'd expect your scouts to be suggesting. He's quick, he's hard working and he's got a lot of potential. If he's indicated that he won't sign a new deal then as long as any bid is more than we'd be likely to get at tribunal he'll be off. It will be a shame because he's a very good player and this season he would have likely had less pressure on him to do everything and be able to play in his natural position but we will see. Hopefully it's not happening and we tie him down to a new deal.

I bet there's a few other players looking over their shoulders nervously about that new scapegoat title though. Kaminski is already getting far more grief than you usually see in preseason, the feeling towards Ramsay seems to be turning after he gave the ball away a couple of times in a friendly and there's been more than a few shouts to sell Leaburn on here. If I were one of them I'd be desperately trying to convince TC to stay for the sake of my own mental health

If the Preston Rumours thread is as accurate as ours then he'll be stating put.

However, despite what Charlton fans may think of TC, he is often picked out as the danger man by other teams and he is also praised by opposition fans after games when he's getting pelters on CL etc.

    WIOTOS (Preston's that is!)

If a player, any player, doesn’t want to re-sign, then as a business you need to cash in.
As previously mentioned on this thread, I’d maybe let Jones run his contract down if he didn’t re-sign.

We are all replaceable in life, doesn’t matter who you are.

Come September NJ will have a squad he will have to use, what will be will be. NJ will give it a go, most of the players will turn up and we will all be a year older.
Far too many on here are glass half empty 😂

TC splits the fan base more than any other player. Personally he was a good division one player but failed to step up to championship level. The same as a few other Charlton players.
