Is this too much to ask with Charlton?

Ever since we were relegated from the Premier League, supporting Charlton has felt like one long cycle of frustration. 

We’ve had financial uncertainty, ownership issues, constant managerial changes, relegations, near misses, false dawns and far too many seasons where we’ve just stood still. 

Just when I thought things were finally heading in the right direction under SE7 partners, this happens again. Ever since we were relegated from the Premier League, it’s been one setback after another—ownership issues, instability, false dawns and constant frustration. It genuinely hasn’t been a nice club to support for years. We all keep coming back because we love Charlton, but it’s exhausting watching history repeat itself.

I don’t expect Premier League football overnight, but I’d just like supporting Charlton to feel enjoyable again instead of constantly wondering what’s going to go wrong next. Look at Bromley, they’ve got next to no dosh but they’re in the right hands. Is that too much to ask with Charlton?

    It's been like eating glass for decades - 

    We are all masochists who refuse to turn their back on Charlton. 

    It's an insane endeavour but you just never know - Lennie did more with less.

    Hasn’t been all bad the Chris Powell season was amazing, couple of playoff wins. The most frustrating is all the uncertainty with owners etc. it’s easy to hang onto the premier league years but I accepted a long time ago we are a league one/lower end championship team. I think as a fan base we need to accept this.

    Since 1963 when I started supporting there have always been frustrations and tribulations of one sort or another.

    in the sixties and seventies key players would be sold. In the eighties all the ground stuff. Then a period of relative stability under Curbs and Gritt then Curbs on his own.  

    Curbs left then we entered the present cycle.

    That was the start of a downward spiral.

    Sadly yes. Like Len,  I also signed up in 63 and don't recall this in the contract but goes with the territory.  The Gliksten's look brilliant in today's age.
