I would hope for better. Coventry and Doc were an upgrade on him from my perspective (others may disagree!). I would want a real upgrade on them to come in, not a rotation / squad optionMuttleyCAFC said:Can't we hijack this? I think Dobbo would help us greatly this season.
On par with when a bloke can only pull a bird that looks like shrek and they say they aren't attracted to Megan Fox or whichever other fit celeb.
Dobson alone has more of an impact in the middle than the two put together, he's already shown that when we have played Wrexham and he made it look easy.
If there is any chance to get him back, we should be all over it.19 -
TC is in this and looking happy so nothing imminent there. Haven’t watched the full thing but the preview on Twitter shows Mbick breaking into a little jog…

I was content to let Dobson go at the time as I didn’t think he’d make the step up but happy to admit to being wrong there. He would improve our midfield but probably not enough to stop us needing to upgrade again next season. But if he’s available on a loan deal that isn’t really an issue is it?6

Mbick and Apter feature fairly heavily in the training montage15

Everyone looking in good spirits in the training vid including NJ. Good to see12

Anyone know if it’s Stu’s birthday soon?1

If he’s looking happy maybe he is off then. I’d be less worried if he looked miserablefenaddick said:TC is in this and looking happy so nothing imminent there. Haven’t watched the full thing but the preview on Twitter shows Mbick breaking into a little jog…

Chalobah is in that video too so he’s still around16

Apart from the fact he passes forwards.Redguy12 said:I like Dobson but what helped him last season was that he had players around him that compliment he's weaknesses. Wrexham midfielders profiles are more balanced than what we have. He's definitely better than Doc. I'm not so sure theres much between him and Coventry. I'm not sure he solves any of the problems we have with the ball and connects to the forward players.0 -

“Dobbo” can pick a pass for sure.Gisappointed said:

I was sorry to see Dobson leave but felt we had the better player in Coventry.
i might have been wrong on that
george Dobson is exactly the player our midfield needs and we should be all over this.
if anyone from the club reads this, I will gladly drive to Wrexham (probably Cheshire) to pick him up.

I love that Billy walks around with his shorts pulled up as well, like he has a fear of fabric touching his knee.FishCostaFortune said:

To put it mildly, the man has got tree trunk legs0 -

Reckon they cracked open the dry powder this morningTheSE7 said:https://youtu.be/Bn9FLkzKpw4?is=wlmmJO73zw8K8BsdI’ve never actually seen TC smiling at all, let alone as much as his is in this video which if anything makes me think even more he could be off 😂
That said the whole groups vibe seems to be good in this, including NJ, so maybe there’s just a positive attitude around the place at the moment.
Obviously can’t really be making conclusions from a 4 minute training video but we’re all gonna do it anyway so why not!9 -

I'm not saying your wrong he's long passing is good and he more comfortable opening up he's body than Coventry.EugenesAxe said:

The problem is I don't think we need to replace Coventry we need to get someone next to him that complement he's weakness in possession and connect to the front players. A lot of Coventry work goes unnoticed off the ball. He does exactly what is asked of him by Jones out of possession. I think we want a no8 that can play through the units. That would give us a different way of playing. Dobbos can't do that.1 -
Well Coventry's work off the ball has gone un-noticed by me, mainly because he was miles behind play. Can someone post stats for the two.
I'd rather re-sign Coady than rely on Coventry. Or gamble on Chalobah managing 20 games.3 -
I assume we spending about the same on transfers but have increased the wage budget?TheSE7 said:Latest quote from Gavin Carter regarding business in the window:
“The amount of money spent this summer window will be the same amount as last window, as long as we can get the right amount (of players) out.”
Otherwise that incremental increase and improving budget is not happening.

Cawley reckons there's credence to TC going to Preston, especially with Grant and Alli coming in, but he also said it's not definitive and that if there's anything going on it's not imminent.
He also thinks we might sell as he hasn't signed yet, and Cawley thinks if he was going to sign an extension he would have by now8 -

Yes, he said we were bottom 2 or 3 last season for wages and would be bottom 6 or 7 this season.FishCostaFortune said:

Carter a bit tight lipped on contract negotiations and just didn’t answer when asked about tyreece Campbell. But says we should expect to spend a similar amount as last summer, depending if we can move players on.3
-
Did anyone see Kanu in that training vid? Maybe the Ballard move will start things moving even if it’s clubs upping previous offers.0

All this talk of Dobbo...
At the end of the season, CL insisting that Jones plays a more adventurous, progressive style of football.
How the f-k does signing Dobbo achieve that?11 -
Have you seen him since he left. A much much better player than what we hadSteveACS said:All this talk of Dobbo...
