I may have misunderstood this but does that not mean we will be spending less because of the transfer coming in?TheSE7 said:Latest quote from Gavin Carter regarding business in the window:
“The amount of money spent this summer window will be the same amount as last window, as long as we can get the right amount (of players) out.”Our net spend would be lower but the money going out would be the same?1 -
Where is this increase in spending he speaks of?TheSE7 said:
Great to see this kind of communication from Gavin to put our minds at ease. Sounds promising him saying we’re increasing spend on players to back that. Hopefully a few signings this week to back that up even further!1 -

I don't think there's much chance of him coming here, so it's all moot anyway. But it wouldn't take much to upgrade on our current two in terms of progressing the ball. Look at Docherty... 98% of midfielders in the Championship had more Successful Passes per 90 last season. 98%! You could pretty much take your pick.SteveACS said:All this talk of Dobbo...
At the end of the season, CL insisting that Jones plays a more adventurous, progressive style of football.
How the f-k does signing Dobbo achieve that?3 -
Thats because he has to do the work of Docherty as well when they play together.Gisappointed said:Well Coventry's work off the ball has gone un-noticed by me, mainly because he was miles behind play. Can someone post stats for the two.
I'd rather re-sign Coady than rely on Coventry. Or gamble on Chalobah managing 20 games.3 -

Trying to do the squad list calculations to figure out what we'd need to do to free up the slots to do what we obviously want to do?
Kanu , Tanto and one of the midfielders probably JRC out?0 -
Most of it will probably be seen in the wage budget. We are going to have a bigger squad than we did last year, with better depth, which will cost more moneysiblers said:

In terms of transfer fees, hopefully there’s a couple more decent sized ones to come3 -

Are we sure they aren’t hired lookalike actors? Exactly what you’d do as part of trying to sell the club.CB1 said:Everyone looking in good spirits in the training vid including NJ. Good to see7 -

Depends more on how they class a “tackle” for example opta (that most betting sites use) have a much stricter view on what constitutes a tackle than fotmob for example.fenaddick said:

I imagine Wednesday are an attractive proposition at the moment. Good wages, and likely to piss the league.
I can understand Dobson not wanting to return to us, but surely the 3 promoted sides would have been interested in a loan deal.2 -
Why? I should think if we could get a substantial part of it back we could then put it towards a quality midfielder whom we might otherwise not be able to afford.RC_CAFC said:
We’d demand more than we paid for him ...Crispywood said:Some rumblings from the Leicester side they’re interested in Kelman
Keeping Kelman is a luxury we cannot afford in our present desperate position. We have Grant, Leaburn, Godden, Kanu and (soon) Mbick. Kelman will not be starting many games. He has Championship skills but a League One physique.21 -

This does annoy me a bit. Surely with such stuff he should be talking to all of us not just a select few.TheSE7 said:
He apparently spoke to Cawley & Mendez in a 20 min interview where I assume more was revealed regarding this.siblers said:

Don't expect to recoup your expenses. The suckers who volunteered to cover the airports for incoming signings still have not been paid their petrol money, let alone compensated for their time wasted.Todds_right_hook said:
if anyone from the club reads this, I will gladly drive to Wrexham (probably Cheshire) to pick him up.4 -

Dobson walks into our midfield. We surely have to be enquiring. It's unfathomable he'll go to Wednesday and we take injury risk Chalobah instead10

Don't forget Lawrie Madden.SporadicAddick said:

Assimwe. In a perfect world Burke is being moved on as well, but no one will be coming in for him. There may be a chance we can loan him but have to swallow the majority of his wages, potentially the same with Tanto.MarcusH26 said:Trying to do the squad list calculations to figure out what we'd need to do to free up the slots to do what we obviously want to do?
Kanu , Tanto and one of the midfielders probably JRC out?Confident Kanu will go, would like to see Tanto, Assimwe and Burke moved on. JRC needs to have a big season as does Knibbs. Apter’s a strange one, looks like he’s being considered, so maybe it’s a reset. Out of him and Tanto, he’s got more potential and we’re short down the right as opposed to up top.Would like to see some moved on however as I do believe Carter being very genuine with that statement4 -
He’s just talking to the media, probably because he’s been asked. In the old days they would’ve spoken to the press and we would’ve had to buy the paper to read it, it’s no different.LargeAddick said:

According to FotMob Dobson vs Coventry
Dobson
Goals + Assists, Expected Goals + Assists, Shots + shots on target, Pass accuracy, long ball accuracy, chances created, cross accuracy, successful dribbles + dribbling (%), duels + aerial duels won. Duels + aerial duel (%), touches, fouls won, defensive contributions, tackles, least fouls committed, possession won final 3rd, clearances.Coventry
Big chances created, touches in opposition box, dispossessed least, interceptions, blocks, ball recoveries, least dribbled past.People may disagree with the use of metrics and stats but Dobson does outperform Coventry in a lot of things1
