Obviously would like to be wrong but I'd be very surprised if Dobson came back. Would have thought there'd be plenty of competition to sign him from other teams going for promotion3

It used to be called "inside forward". A bit vague, but he certainly is no winger, even less a wingback.stop_shouting said:

Do MB say they're using Wyscout data? It seems like they're not transparent about where their data is coming from.Callumcafc said:
I’ve seen a reddit thread or two with similar accusations. It’s because Wyscout (where DataMB sources info) and Opta (where FotMob sources info) use the same names for different definitions.Chunes said:
People seem to say DataMB isn't reliable. Some of those stats just don't add up compared to the Opta stats. I'm not sure how the two could be so wildly different.Callumcafc said:
Wyscout, via DataMB.Chunes said:Surely Coventry did not win 74% of his duels last season. According to FotMob he won 47%. Where is the data from @Callumcafc?
For duels specifically, and I quote Gemini: “The fundamental difference is that Wyscout tracks far more structural types of duels (including situations with no physical contact), whereas Opta defines a duel strictly as a physical 50-50 contest between two opposing players. Because of this difference in criteria, a single match logged by Wyscout will routinely report significantly higher total duel numbers than the exact same match logged by Opta.”
If true, that to me suggests possibly Con Cov is not always the best at winning true 50/50s but he is very good at shielding the ball, pressing opponents etc.

They don’t list their data sources, no 🤷♂️Chunes said:

"Everyone"? I think its fair to say that 99.99% on here don't give a monkeys about your posts.TheSE7 said:
Sorry mate, I feel like everyone’s having a pop at me here so I’m just having a laugh with it at this point. I’d honestly like to have my account taken down by the mods at this stage, I’ve quite clearly ruined any small amount of credibility I had on here anyway, but I won’t leave without throwing a few jabs back at the ones throwing jabs at me 🤣EugenesAxe said:
My wife? 🤣 I have a friend who has an onlyfans but that’s a much more casual thing between us, im enjoying your retro insults tho 🤣. Look, im not trying to back you into a corner here so you don’t need to invoke the spirit of a 20 yo Danny Dyer ok?TheSE7 said:
Only sub that makes me do that is my subscription to your wife’s OnlyFans. I don’t quite get the same from Cawley’s substack as that’s just more Charlton misery than anything. Keep it up though.EugenesAxe said:TheSE7 said:
Apologies only come when I feel like I was in the wrong about something which this time I am not. Fair enough if I’ve forgotten about something/misjudged someone, there’s a way to tell someone that respectfully as opposed to name calling but there’s obviously just a lot of big, brave men on here hidden behind their screens who feel that they can just say anything to anyone because it makes them feel big or important.TheHerminator said:
Some start to your Charlton Life career you’ve had fella.TheSE7 said:
It’s an opinion. Don’t like it, fucking move past it, rather than resorting to name calling yet again. You’ve a picture of yourself up on here pal and there’s plenty of things I could call you but I won’t because I’m not a prick. Just tone it in man.sam3110 said:
"DMAC" as you call him is an arrogant, noisy fuckwit with hardly any morals and friends like Southall. If you truly think he's a "good bloke" then you're either a shit judge of character, or just a shitTheSE7 said:
Yes because you know me so well. Get over it you helmet and stop being a little beggy keyboard warrior.ProperCharlton said:

Looking forward to tomorrows apology
Is that what happened in your profile pic?Is it a Sub thing?
You do need to chill out tho on here otherwise you’re gonna have a Connery before much longer.

I’d not be that surprised if it’s true. Preston is a crap move, they’re likely to be just as shit as we are. He might know that there are other clubs looking at him this window so he’d rather wait and see if they match our asking priceCrispywood said:
That’s what I cant understand if TC is so happy here that he’s willing to reject the opportunity for more money, and chance to play for a fanbase that wont abuse him why not sign a new deal. Likewise if he doesn’t want to sign why hasn’t he jumped at the opportunity to get out of here 1 year earlier than he had to doesn’t make senseAberystwythAddick said:
If he refuses to leave and doesn’t sign a new contract that is the absolute worst case scenariofenaddick said:
That's a glorious rumour to say because it's totally unprovable. I wouldn't be angry if it was true though, would be a decent valuation and might increase our chances of TC stayingFoxycafc said:According to he who must not be named from the other forum. Preston have met our 3.5 million asking price for TC but the player has decided he doesn’t want to go and not keen on the deal."
Or he might want to leave next summer. Financially that would be the best move for him, and also football wise it might be the best move for him. If he has a half decent season then he will have better offers than Preston next summer, and if he doesn’t then I’m sure we will still have an offer on the table2 -
Preston seems pretty toxic at the moment with their captain forcing a move to Wrexham and lack of clarity on new ownership. Whilst we are not a bed of roses, I think they are in trouble if they don’t get ownership resolved.NabySarr said:

If we keep TC, then I’d definitely be letting Fullah go out on loan1 -
Guilty as charged. But I wasn’t being serious with it, was a funny old jive. Me and my mates always say it, can’t remember where it originated from. But it had the same impact on me as you guys when I first heard it. 😂jams said:My favourite bickering on here was someone apparently seriously calling someone else Mr idiot1 -

Daniel Johnson is currently a free agent with bags of Championship experience as a midfielder. Might be worth a look1

I genuinely don’t understand those who wouldn’t have Dobson back.He was amazing for us and in my opinion has only got better having gone to Wrexham.I’m not saying it’s even slightly on the cards by the way, just that I personally would jump at the chance to have him back in our squad. Comfortably better than what we have at the moment32

Yep. In both the Wrexham ganes last season, Dobson looked a classy player. But we also have other priorities. If he was free I would take him in a heartbeat but we also need other upgrades more.1
-
But then his own stock goes down massively if the club exclude him from the squad until xmas and he goes off the radar of buying clubs? That would be his choice if he plays hardball with us over running down his contract?AberystwythAddick said:

Nathan Redmond is our first choice anyway and he's a wonderful experienced player who, God willing, can have impact on the pitch. Something something powder dry happy with where the squad is at23

He’s shit anyway 😉TheSE7 said:

There’s nothing telling me he would be a guaranteed good signing in the championship. Same as Alli for me.1
-
It has looked that way for a while to be fair, I’d hope the club haven’t been putting too many eggs in that basket and have others ready to go in that position. I think that could be a good spot for a young talented prem loan.TheSE7 said:

Still think the midfielder is the more pressing priority too.5 -
Preston agree deal with Boro for Delano Burgzorg, similar role to TC where he can play on the wing or up top and is very physical but needs to put the technical side together, wonder if that's them moving on?1
