I don't know the rules about how many foreign players you're allowed but it seems like a no-brainer to me. Much better value to be had abroad.MarcusH26 said:Not that bothered about Kamara , always felt like we were being used by his agent to drive the price up for Pompey.
Suspect our new wideman will ultimately be from abroad and we'll have to judge off an EDM YouTube video of clips.0 -
Yes, but what a great name.NabySarr said:
If you’ve seen him play then you won’t. Not a good signing, one of those player that’s more of an athlete than a footballer. Preston fans won’t be happy if they don’t get TC or Mills and end up with BurgzorgUboat said:I want a player called Burgzorg.🎶 Delli Burgzorg running down the wing, scoring goals…🎶2 -
Didn't he leave after some kind of dispute over money, a falling out with Nathan, something like that ? .. he was reputed to be signing for a Hungarian club til Wrexham grabbed him. I doubt he'd been too keen to return to us IF there had been some kind of major disagreement. A pity though, he was outstanding for us i m oRC_CAFC said:
They must be paying him a fortune because he’s totally championship quality. I’d be all over that to get him back. Can’t quite believe Jones isn’t.ForeverAddickted said:Sheffield Wednesday are advancing in talks to sign Wrexham midfielder George Dobson on loan. #swfc #WxmAFC pic.twitter.com/FKJNbCpBzA

I think it's 4 that wouldn't normally qualify for a work permit and currently I think we've just got Sichenje and Mesik in those slots.Pelling1993 said:

I don’t know where Koumetio stands either. Does he count as homegrown? I know he spent 4 years at Liverpool but some were abroad on loan. And would his time in Scotland count or does them being a different FA throw a spanner in the works? I genuinely have no ideaMarcusH26 said:

I might be wrong but my memory is that NJ got him to stay until the end of the season, I remember being amazed that Dobson continued to put the effort in that he did knowing he was going. Im also sure that NJ mentioned trying to keep him, him leaving I dont remember being anything to do with NJLincsaddick said:

He’d signed the pre contract before NJ came in, any dispute would have been with Andy Scott. NJ spoke glowingly of him the whole timeLincsaddick said:

It says in the rules 3 years registered to an English club before the age of 21 , but I see where Koumetio is a weird one.fenaddick said:

Are you saying that above poster is making it up then?RonnieMoore said:
3.5 mill for Campbell .. lol lol lol Preston are in a bigger mess then we are led to believe …. as RC said there been no bidsFoxycafc said:According to he who must not be named from the other forum. Not sure if I'm to post it on here as I don't know his reputation. Is he reliable?"A proper piece of info for you.
Preston have met our 3.5 million asking price for TC but the player has decided he doesn’t want to go and not keen on the deal."0 -

We treated Dobson like a second rate player and offered him a pittance to stay on, in fact I was amazed at the time when he agreed to stay till the end of the season, I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to return here, but at the same time would welcome him back with open arms...4

NJ definitely wanted to keep Dobson.
It was Andy Scott that didn’t.28 -
Dobson is a better player than both Coventry and Docherty so on that basis he would improve us.
We would still need another midfielder though as both Cov and Doch need replacing11 -
Am I missing something has there been a rumour of Dobson signing for us? Thought he was off to sheff weds.0
-
Just people wanting him back.2

Unfortunately this forum has written Apter off after playing for us for 1 month then getting player of the month, then banished to the wasteland for 6 months loaned out to Bolton which he didn’t player much (shocker) as the guys confidence probably was completely gone. But yeah he is completely useless apparently.Chawlton said:Would Redmond even be that bad? him and apter on the right isn’t a bad combination2 -
IF we sign no one else this windowBerkshire1970 said:Looks like Kamara close to joining Portsmouth. What a desperately disappointing window but we just have to get on with it. If we drop down to league 1 which is highly likely not owning any of the assets we are not going to be appealing to any potential owners or investors .

I believe he did sign a contract with a Hungarian club but it was mutually terminated because he didn't want to go or something?Lincsaddick said:

He left as Andy Scott basically forced him out.
Jones was a massive fan of him and went all out to get him available for the second half of the season.13 -
Both of which, in my opinion, are not going to happen...Henry Irving said:

Why don’t we open a Dobson thread. This is getting ridiculous8

That training video yesterday made it seem like we didn’t play that friendly in the end?0

NJ had the chance to bring re-sign Dobson that summer but didn't follow up according to someone who spoke to his family but a move to London would suit him.CafcSteve said:NJ definitely wanted to keep Dobson.
It was Andy Scott that didn’t.
Can't see it happening myself but who knows?3 -
Luke Berry still hasn’t got a new club yet.9

Anywhere else would be a big change for TC.cafcsinger said:Wouldn't surprise me if TC didn't fancy Preston, he seems a shy person who has only ever been at Charlton. Quite a big change.0 -
sshhh, don't tell Nathan Jones thisCafcSteve said:Luke Berry still hasn’t got a new club yet.6 -
I liked Dobbo but why all the convo about a very defensive sided MF player…. It’s attacking and creative options we’re woefully lacking…6
-
Creative yes but when people are talking about our midfield who are they complaining about doc and Coventry or Carey and Knibbs?Malone_Addick said:I liked Dobbo but why all the convo about a very defensive sided MF player…. I’m not putting too much weight into a failed loan. He was excellent the two seasons before and he was never going to get in over Cozier-Duberry when he came back to fitness. If we do play 4-2-3-1. He is worth keeping to see.CafcSteve said:Apter couldn’t even get in Bolton’s squad last season, so that’s uninspiring enough.
Fwiw Cozier-Duberry hasn’t got a loan yet. I would happily have him in as our RW alternative.1 -
He was a lot better than you suggest. NOT just a one trick magicianMalone_Addick said:I liked Dobbo but why all the convo about a very defensive sided MF player…. It’s attacking and creative options we’re woefully lacking…6
