I've not really been too bothered about Abu Kamara to be honest, nothing I've ever seen or heard of him has marked him out as an essential purchase, but I wonder who we're looking at instead and how far along that is. We have one RW and he's both injured and coming off the back of a failed L1 loan that he flounced off to in a huff, so adding some serious pace down the right is absolutely essential, that player is likely to be starting most games if we stick with the 42317

I disagree. Thought he created a lot for usMalone_Addick said:I liked Dobbo but why all the convo about a very defensive sided MF player…. It’s attacking and creative options we’re woefully lacking…3 -
Be surprised if Dobson returns.
He would improve the midfield. No doubt at all.
We would still need another CM to carry and move the ball forward but someone with Dobsons athleticism is always a plus!1 -
I think NJ has said many many times the level of player we are going after takes time may not happen till late in the window but he hoping things will move before DerbyCafcSteve said:10 Days until the Derby Match,
Still haven’t signed any central midfielders,
You couldn’t make it up!9 -

What a signing that would be. Couldn’t see it at all myselfRC_CAFC said:
I’m not putting too much weight into a failed loan. He was excellent the two seasons before and he was never going to get in over Cozier-Duberry when he came back to fitness. If we do play 4-2-3-1. He is worth keeping to see.CafcSteve said:Apter couldn’t even get in Bolton’s squad last season, so that’s uninspiring enough.
Fwiw Cozier-Duberry hasn’t got a loan yet. I would happily have him in as our RW alternative.1 -
George Dobson would be a good signing. He has a seemingly underrated passing range. The tackles I agree were more of a necessity as much as I rate his tackling ability as premier league level
I'll hear the argument that he may not necessarily take us to the next level but the way I see it this season is one of making sure we aren't in a dogfight against relegation and he is a good fit for that.
Connor Coventry has more in his locker and a few of us are being overly harsh as he was clearly carrying an injury last season. I don't know why he doesn't take more of our corners but I also don't see us train every day to see how good the rest are
Greg Docherty, I can't dig him out as his attitude is exemplary and I have a long enough memory seeing charlton sides without anyone with his attitude and work ethic in. I think it would be naive not to use the loan system to bring in at least 3 pedigree players. One being a central midfielder capable of getting his foot on the ball, head up passing the ball, a genuinely fast wide player and a number 8, box to box capable player.
Cameron Brannagan would still be my pick to sign now and instantly improve the centre of midfield.
Also I think we need to have a serious look at the Lincoln City goalkeeper Wickens and get Kaminski moved on. He is easily championship quality and has a very high ceiling to his ability

Have you seen CC’s corners?
We definitely don’t want him taking them!2 -

Would love a rumour now.
Someone spotting a footballer type in a local Tesco?
A tinted van entering the training ground?
Dobbo in a cap spotted in Bexley.

Just driving back down the M6 after staying away with work and I saw TC again in his Fiat 500.
Looks like he was with Thierry Small and a large scale Railway model set.
Make of that what you will.25 -
Like we will ever spend £11.8m on a player this season
...utter nonsense...also I might add one that was bang average when he played against us last season!

Very average player. Doesn't seem to stay anywhere very long and wasn't that impressive on loan last season at WBA.dmccart32 said:Like we will ever spend £11.8m on a player this season

Was offered a measly two year contract extension on average squad wages, heard that from a very good source. George Dobson definitely wanted to stay, just knew his worth, which you can't give him a bad rep for.Lincsaddick said:
Didn't he leave after some kind of dispute over money, a falling out with Nathan, something like that ? .. he was reputed to be signing for a Hungarian club til Wrexham grabbed him. I doubt he'd been too keen to return to us IF there had been some kind of major disagreement. A pity though, he was outstanding for us i m oRC_CAFC said:
They must be paying him a fortune because he’s totally championship quality. I’d be all over that to get him back. Can’t quite believe Jones isn’t.ForeverAddickted said:Sheffield Wednesday are advancing in talks to sign Wrexham midfielder George Dobson on loan. #swfc #WxmAFC pic.twitter.com/FKJNbCpBzA

Sheer stupidity by the club, he should have been offered 4-5 years and been made a top earner, complete no brainer.
The dangers of having clueless people (Andy Scott) employed by your club making big footballing decisions.14 -
Would have liked Kamara, as he would have undoubtedly been an improvement on what we have, but I don't think that will decide our season, more important positions to cover.
Hopefully we have more targets.5 -
Tbf they have identified our key area of need. How many times must we cry out for a left wing back??? WE'VE ONLY SIGNED TWO LEFT SIDED DEFENDERS THIS WINDOW PEOPLE THIS IS MADNESSBetterCallSaul said:

Hopping on your post as you’ve brought him back up. Haven’t seen anyone mention that this deal to Pompey is happening after he changed agent. Really makes me think we weren’t as interested as the reporting suggested and his agent was just dangling us to up the financialsBraziliance said:Would have liked Kamara, as he would have undoubtedly been an improvement on what we have, but I don't think that will decide our season, more important positions to cover.

I’d rather sign 2 central midfielders than a right winger tbh if we are only bringing in 2 more players. It’s not ideal but I’d be fine with TC, Alli and Apter being our options on the right hand side if it means we can get 2 new midfielders in. Jones has obviously said we want a RW though so I’m sure we will get one5

I mean I'm sure if we could have got him in we would, but we probably didn't invest as much time or effort into this deal as reporting suggests.fenaddick said:

I’d want one starting quality natural right winger. It’s no use sorting out the midfield if the opposition can neutralise your attacking threat by blocking up the left of your attackNabySarr said:I’d rather sign 2 central midfielders than a right winger tbh if we are only bringing in 2 more players.
