Yeah £3.5m on someone that's going to be cover for Junior feels a bit crazy even in the current market. Surely there's better value out there.bobmunro said:EugenesAxe said:Did I read that he's failed the medical?Looks that way - and if so it seems a lot of money for an injured player who will only be back up to Junior. Not sure if it means it's on or off.0 -
No idea, did you?EugenesAxe said:Did I read that he's failed the medical?12 -
Yeah, but as @bobmunro will testify, they are desperate for a bit of "Love Island glamour" up that way, so that alone probably added a million to their bid!MarcusH26 said:

I thought I did, but couldn't find it mentioned here, He's been Charltonised.Off_it said:

I think people are way too harsh on Clarke. He definitely tailed off but he was being asked to play so high, he will do much better as a proper right back. I think he would have been much happier in our new shape but we obviously weren't going to spend £3.5m on a backup RB. It's a shame the way he's being remembered on here though, he was a big part of us self-righting in the new year19

If he failed the medical we should get straight in there...sounds a perfect fit13

Yep apparently has an issue with his knee must have been from all the running to deliver the long throw insEugenesAxe said:Did I read that he's failed the medical?5 -
So can he do it on a wet night in Stoke?
Yeah, but as @bobmunro will testify, they are desperate for a bit of "Love Island glamour" up that way0 -
Not for me,too ready to have a go at his team mates when things went wrong, when a lot of the time it was him who ballsed it up0

Scoring won’t be the same without his early celebrations though6

Probably had a shoulder issue show upfenaddick said:Scoring won’t be the same without his early celebrations though4 -
A huge gamble. Stoke will either struggle to get insurance, or pay a ridiculous premium for it...bobmunro said:EugenesAxe said:Did I read that he's failed the medical?Looks that way - and if so it seems a lot of money for an injured player who will only be back up to Junior. Not sure if it means it's on or off.1 -
Wasn't one of the reasons Chris Solly never moved on on his prime that he couldn't get insurance for his injury record? Maybe Harry is similar to this.0

Signed for Preston3

A weird chain of events. I imagine Preston will have paid less than Stoke would have.1

He'd have passed our medical.3

Preston looking at our transfer targets/squad11 -
He was very moody today. I enjoyed seeing his pathetic attempt at goal. It looked like he wanted to injure Mesik a couple of times.McNamara is an upgrade on the long-throw merchant.3
-
There was a nice moment between him and Nathan Jones in the second half caught on Camera where they seemed to share a joke7

Ironically looked like one of their better players which wasnt saying much. Pretty average all in all.2

How I felt about him when he was here, average, terrible going forward.DamoNorthStand said:Ironically looked like one of their better players which wasnt saying much. Pretty average all in all.1 -
A couple of decent long throws, but I don't think Preston exploited them that well, considering it was the standout feature of his time with us.2

Is everyone clear that Harry Clarke played as a wing back for Charlton and when NJ decided to revert to a back 4 with full backs and wide forwards (Wingers)on both sides of the 3 behind the 1 up front then Harry Clarke who liked to get into tho opposition box wasn't needed.
In 3 matches for CAFC Harry had chances to score early doors but couldn't finish.
We have Danny Spanner and Kayne when he's fit.0 -
Got down the line and put in a great cross in the first half, just as he did regularly for us. Was a very decent addition to our squad last season.mendonca said:He was very moody today. It seems bizarre for someone that I doubt you have ever met, who did a good job on loan for us and who, judging by his interaction with our players at the end of the match, was clearly a popular figure.7 -
I liked HC and think he does his job well, but I do believe we have upgraded on our right side.6
-
I liked him when he was with us, but he wouldn’t get in our XI this season. He may even struggle to make the bench when everyone is fit.1
