That was a poor attempt at a joke.

Bloke on my train this morning who looked like Nathan Jones but if he'd been put through a microwave.

Not sure if this is a sign but I felt it night be relevant in some way

That’s how some describe our recruitment drive…

Hopefully a new signing to discuss on press day🙏

If Nathan Redmond is the answer then what is the question? Don’t think Apter can exactly learn much from a winger who’s played 9 games in the last 3 years personally
Who played on the right wing in Charlton’s 2026/27 relegation season?
    Danny Green and Scott Wagstaff?

I asked an agent I know, who are we about to sign? He said Kamara maybe. I also asked who wanted to sell their part of the club. He replied no it’s just investment they are looking for.
    i hope that helps 🤷🏻‍♂️
Is he the agent Kamara has just dropped so that he can go back to Portsmouth?
  • You just know the next signing is going to be some experienced midfielder from West Brom on a season long loan.

Plymouth looking to sign Will Evans from Mansfield, another potential home for DK looking more unlikely, madness to me that none of the higher spending league one sides have picked him up

He may need to play for us at this rate. What are the options? Godden, Kelman or Leaburn? Grant will play out wide, Mbick won’t be ready for the start of the season. I expect Tanto will be shipped out.

Weird this morning how the posts have dwindled, like people are waiting for something to actually happen now.

We need to get him out to open up the space for what we need to come in, we’re already struggling on registration space. Suspect we will have to drop our asking price this month until we find a taker

It’s page 469. All the old favourites have been done to death, the arguments have all happened and there’s not really much left to say.

He’s had no minutes in the last couple of (official) friendlies which is a big signal that he isn’t in NJ’s plans. I think the option if Godden/Leaburn get injured would be Grant up top. It would be very Charlton to end up with 4 natural no 9s all injured though

Current players that would count towards the 25 man squad limit:

    Kaminski, Mannion, Brooks

Ramsay, McNamara, Asiimwe, Jones, Sichenje, Burke, Bell, Koumetio, Edwards, Mesik

    Coventry, Docherty, Rakin-Costello, Knibbs, Carey

    Apter, Campbell, Grant, Alli

    Godden, Leaburn, Kelman, Tanto, Kanu

    Players that would not count:
    Gough, Enslin, Mwamba, Fuller, Mbick

That’s a total of 32 players with 27 counting towards the limit.

We can assume Asiimwe, Tanto, and Kanu will
move on. Brings the total down to 24. Ideally we need to move on another one or two on top of those 3 mentioned.

Important to note that as far as I understand, any loan players signed, no matter of age, count towards the 25 man squad.

For us to sign at least 2 players, ideally we need at least 3 (we’ve covered the positions), we need at least 4 players to leave.

Lots of work to do before we can finalise a squad.

Let’s hope we get a bit of movement over the next day or two and can see things start to take shape.

Shame no one would probably take Burke with his injury record. Would be fine with Gough as the 4th CB.

Him and JRC feel like the most dispensable extra player but also two that are going to be very hard to find suitors for

In theory, once Edwards is back we have 6 centre backs including Gough as Bell moves back to that left centre back position.

Just mention an ex player. That's usually worth half a dozen pages...

Would be perfectly happy with that in either formation. Burke just feels like a waste for 15 games a season when he's actually fit.

This is how teams get relegated. Gough is nowhere near a fully fit Burke's level.

I hope we don’t see Bell at LCB in a back 4 very much. I think Jones and Koumetio are the starters, if Koumetio can’t play then Jones will move across to LCB and then Sichenje or Burke will play next to him

Think Bell is there as a left back option and then will play LCB whenever we switch to a back 3

I haven't warmed to him, but there are questions on whether our other CBs can play in a two instead of a three. I think he definitely can.

JRC is dispensable in terms of what he's shown so far but he's not in terms of position. If we're only bringing in one central midfielder then JRC rounds us up to the 4 we need in that position. I'd be very nervous if we shipped JRC out to only replace him with one CM. In terms of positional overloads it's very much Olaofe who's killing us at the moment. 4th choice left winger, 5th choice striker is not a good place to be

And Burke is nowhere near Gough’s fitness level.

Mesik is also another option at CB, we should have enough cover there for Gough to go out on loan.
