471 pages 4 signings so by the time we get to page 500 the 5th signing will be here.
Are you suggesting causation? I can come up with 30 pages of nonsense if you think it’ll help?
  • Was just on my lunch walk around Avery Hill park listening to my audio book, and could hear Jones shouting instructions at the players through my headphones from quite the distance away.

Decided to walk on over and have a peak through the bushes Southampton style. Players seemed to be doing quiet an intense match based training exercise.

Surprised at how loud and fast paced it was.

  • It's critical we keep the page count up, team. Every bit helps
The next two pages will be crucial.
Don’t do that to me, I’m 2 pages behind!

Good theory but we've signed 5 players already.
  • Cool, 400 odd posts of the usual crewbags patting themselves on the back and sniffing each others farts.

Gotta love a transfer rumours thread.

    💨👃👀😁
You can be extremely coarse sometimes.
  • Bloke on my train this morning who looked like Nathan Jones but if he'd been put through a microwave.

It was  NJ. The directors had given him a good grilling for buying players we cannot give away.

Mesik is also another option at CB, we should have enough cover there for Gough to go out on loan.
When he arrived, Mesik said his usual, and preferred, position was LCB.
  • The issue with Burke vs Gough, isn't that Burke isn't a better player than Gough at this stage, which he is. It's that he takes up a squad place, when we are over the limit, and thus is a luxury.

The EFL squad rules make younger players like Gough and Mwamba essential to the squad. They also make slightly overage players like Asiimwe (and Karoy before he left) hard to keep around.

  • I know some are youngsters but 31 first team players is a ridiculous amount. Docherty being 10 and Knibbs being 8 is doing my head in much more than it should do
  • For those that have not got x.com like me, it is on Charlton OS latest news

Plymouth looking to sign Will Evans from Mansfield, another potential home for DK looking more unlikely, madness to me that none of the higher spending league one sides have picked him up
He may need to play for us at this rate. What are the options? Godden, Kelman or Leaburn? Grant will play out wide, Mbick won’t be ready for the start of the season. I expect Tanto will be shipped out.
We need to get him out to open up the space for what we need to come in, we’re already struggling on registration space. Suspect we will have to drop our asking price this month until we find a taker
I can think of a few others I’d rather see ditched over Kanu.
Its not necessarily who we want to get rid of, irs who CAN we get rid of. Olaofe, Burke, JRC are all ones i think we would get rid if we could. But the same reasons we don't want them means no-one else does either.
So 3 players we brought in last year you want to get rid of.

What does that say about our recruitment.

And maybe why the owners aren't giving NJ the funds he needs. If money is tight would you give your manager a'few more million to waste on injury prone or players that are not up to it.
'We' in this case being some people on a forum. There's been absolutely no indication that Jones wants to move on JRC or Burke, even with Olaofe it's more assumption in the context of who we've brought in and how much he's played
    Fair point.

But one thing still stands, if we are going to bring in another couple of players (NJ said 2 after the Reading match) then our squad size will be over the 25 permitted......so 2 or 3 will have to leave.

I think we all know there are a few players that NJ wants to move on. I think come the end of the transfer window they will have to be loanee out as I dont think there will be many takers for a permanent transfer.

Coventry being number 6 is the biggest crime. European woke nonsense that has no place in the English game. Him and Burke should swap numbers or be sold

So you were listening to the training through your headphones...?  Cool. Is this available for everyone to download or subscribe to 😀
  • Apart from the obvious omission of number 13 there are no 15,16,34 or 35. The plot thickens.

Surprised Mannion isn’t 13, pretty standard second choice GK number these days
  • I expected the 8 to be left spare for the new CM signing.
  • Doesn’t feel like they’d bring someone in before Cheltenham if they’ve released this today. You’d have thought they’d have waited. I’ll assume no one is coming in and then be pleasantly surprised if they do.

  • Jordan Thompson at Preston wears number 15, very much clutching at straws at this stage though. Pretty clear we won't be bringing someone to be involved at Cheltenham at this stage but I really do hope someone is close like has been indicated a couple of times this week by those with sources to the club, without wanting to beat down anyone who shares information or create some kind of ITK league, always grateful to those who share what they hear
  • Like that Edwards got 3.

Chalobah 15 and Redmond 16 has a ring to it.

On a serious note, Estoril’s first league game is tomorrow night. So it will be good to see the squad they announce for it.

Unfortunately can’t find any pre match press conference from their manager. Suppose that’s not something they bother with there.

They just signed a Cypriot central defender.

Docherty as number 10 makes me feel sick
  • Lots to dislike in those squad numbers. Coventry and Burke need to swap, as do Knibbs and Doc, though I appreciate that it's Doc's role as captain to wear the cursed 10 shirt and shield the rest of the team from it. It's Mesik at 18 and Grant at 9 that are sickening me somewhat though. A left back wearing 18 and a winger wearing 9 feels wrong and it upsets me that we've let this happen. Also can you really trust a player who choose to wear 12? I don't think you can.

Anyone else fed up with all the disagreements, bickering and whatnot on here...and just scrolling down looking for the next gem from @stjohnshill!?
No I'm not, you got an issue with that?
