Sounds like we are possibly signing a midfielder and signing Chalobah this week? Would imagine we are confident we can move on 2 of Costello, Docherty and Coventry if that is the case

I interpreted the article as Chalobah has all but signed but we'd like another CM & RW on top of that, assuming this is the player where a medical/being close hints have nodded towards & possibly the delay in-between given his medical history.
Probably Redmond seeing as he's currently injured.

So Chalobah before the weekend & Redmond when fit......or a different RW if they become available/ Redmond breaks down.
    He basically rules out Redmond

    Ogbene?
    Good shout.
Signed after Jones had left, no?

NJ say he knows the right winger very very well which suggests either it's his wife or a player he's worked with before.

So maybe the Soton winger mentioned above?

Jones hiding his disgust at being stabbed in the back by the owners very well, quite upbeat, I thought.
    Redmond.

Very good shout. As likely as anyone.
Apart from never having managed him yeah

A point just made by my son as well - so maybe not.

I mean tbf, he didn’t say the player played for him, just that he knows him very well.

That could be literally anyone within British football.

I thought it was Kamara. Read it to mean he's know the player's strengths very very well. Could be wrong.

We’ve signed Alli and Kaminski that were former Luton but after Jones. We have Phil Chapple so he might be keen on Ogbene as I’d assume he was involved in him signing for Luton

I don’t think Ogbene is amazing but he’d be great in that we can be more flexible between 4 and 3 at the back systems so I’d be happy with that signing

My reading of that is the winger NJ knows well is Kamara. 'Let’s see where he ends up' suggests Jones is perhaps confident it's with us.

NC this week then Holsgrove as the 'let's see what happens' signing? In other words, JH has been hanging on to assess all his options but may well sign for us close to the deadline.

The fact he said he will have to wait to get him it’s pointing to the Southampton winger that NJ knows very well

Tanto going to Lincoln seems a strange one.

    Weirdly now playing in Iran.
Yes you are right for me it was coming up as a free agent. Harry Cornick or Solly March unlike but he would of know him when he was at Brighton as assistant manager.

Chalobah’s injury problems are a worry but he really impressed me in the game at the end of the season against Wednesday and against Colchester for us, he’s a good size and very experienced just hope he can stay fit.
My son says the same. He was at Hillsborough & said Chalobah ran the game. And it was universal on here that he was head & shoulders above anyone else in our team in his first PSF with us.

Could it be that he’s not that rubbish after all and we’re a bit overly critical of players who don’t shine straight away?

Tanto on loan may be useful. We can see how he fairs with a year in the championship and if does well keep or cash in.
  • Important to remember that Cohen was one of NJ’s coaches and followed him to a few clubs.

    Link could have legs

Lyndon Dykes and Conor Coady were a huge part of why we stayed up last season
Dykes is a proper centre forward. He doesn’t score many goals but he holds the ball up and keeps you up the pitch. I get the whole lack of a creative midfielder point but I would also be very concerned that Leaburn is not mobile or clever enough to do that role.
Grant is a very good player but biggest concern is how we bring him into the game
Presumably we won't be hoofing it quite so much if it's just Godden up top. Grant is clearly better technically than anyone else we've got so I'm sure we'll be looking to get the ball to him often.

Imagine Tanto keeping them up with his goals & we go down. Wouldn't hear the last of it on here.

But I thought Lincoln had a better squad than us, why would they be after Tanto?!
