I think Lincoln are just happy to be here tbh. Doubt their fans are expecting anything other than relegation and to tick off some bigger grounds
Spot on. I’m working on Lincoln this week and this is the view of their fans that I have spoken with

Good luck Tanto . It’s baffling as to why Jones signed him in the first place considering the formation he used last season . The same can be said for Apter .
I think it was quite clear with Tanto. He was signed to play the TC hybrid role of LW/ST, looked a decent fit from what I saw from him at Stockport. He just couldn’t do the running that TC does though, and looked knackered most of the time. Spoke to a Stockport fan and he said he looked like he’d bulked up too much which I think must have affected his fitness

I’d imagine they’ve done it based on how he performed against them in league one. I’m pleased they’re signing him though as it suggests they’re struggling to recruit better.
He played six minutes in a 1-0 loss against them last season. He did score against them in both games the previous season for Stockport though, one win and one loss
I meant two seasons ago. Last year was a write off for him.

They’ll be paying a decent portion of his wages hopefully.

Question remains what do Lincoln see in him that would warrant them thinking he can help them this season that we don’t
I suspect they've been rejected by a number of their other targets.

It's really hard as a newly promoted team in the Championship,  unless you're a moneybags team expected to be fighting near the top,  as many of the players you want to sign won't join you.

He's available and probably open to the move, which the vast majority of proven Champ strikers probably aren't. Probably not much deeper than that.

We ourselves had the same issue, we opted to see if Kelman and Leaburn could step up, and if Godden still had what it took at this level. Even now we saw Dykes opting for a "established" side, apparently over us.

Tanto does well we get more money than we would have done if he went to L1

he does badly harms a relegation rival and proves we made the right decision sending him out.

Bigger portion of wages off the bill and frees up squad places for positions we need.

    brilliant deal all round

Nowhere. Someone suggested him as a winger who has previously worked with NJ. That’s it.

Unless of course he does well and scores the goals that keep them up at our expense.

I don't think that will happen and it's absolutely the right decision loan him to whoever pays the biggest chunk of his wages, just saying there is a third scenario!!

There's another scenario where he's great for them until January and we recall him at the end of the window and derail their season

Lincoln would have to finish 21st, we would have to finish 22nd and he would have to be a key player we’re not that cursed for that to happen

He’s been linked with unnamed Championship clubs. Someone said they hoped we were one of them looking at him.

NJ said he knows the winger we're after very well.

Edozie was on the list of wingers who's played under him.

O'Rourke then tweets that a number of Championship clubs are pursuing Edozie.

Do we think the club are reading this thread waiting for it to get to 500 pages before announcing the next signing…wanting us to go crazy a little while longer  :D

Am I the only one interpreting that differently.

“We know the player. I know the player very, very well. Let’s see where he ends up.”

That whole quote implies he’s talking about knowing Kamara and curious to see what happens with him.

Where does he say the right winger we’re looking at I know very well. Edozie isn’t even a RW

This is how I read it too, we know Kamara well (we've played against him and probably scouted him a lot)

The let's see where he ends up suggests he's someone that's on our radar, but I think, for the RW position, NJ probably has a different number 1 target in mind

I'm sorry but comparing Tanto Oloafe to Nicholas Jackson might be one of the most deluded/flattering things I've ever heard about a Charlton player.
Didn't someone compare Coventry to Elliot Anderson a few weeks ago
Remember when Pardew said Grant Basey was like Gareth Barry
He was exactly like him.......1st initials only though. I reckon Pardew meant it like the names were similar, in that he probably got introduced to Basey, & mis-heard his name.

Good to see Tanto being moved on, albeit a loan where we may be covering the wages.  Frees up a place in the squad and it’s another move down in finalizing our 26/27 squad.

I was upbeat when we signed him and on paper it was In keeping with the policy of last summer’s buys, it just hasn’t worked out and that happens.  Obviously he’s at one of our relegation rivals, but I don’t believe anybody on here based on what we’ve seen will think that’s a poor move on our part.  I think for the purpose of getting the right players in with our squad limit this is a good move all round

Let’s get these last signings over the line now - the dominant CM is the one we need to see next

It was a bit ambiguous but he was asked about Kamara so I interpreted it this way.

Surely this window has been 10/10?

Just think how well we’ve done to keep hold of the best midfield partnership in the league.

The rest of the teams can only dream of having Cov & Doc running the show!
These two seem to be taking more and more stick, largely due to frustration we haven't strengthened by now, which really isn't their fault.
Agree - I blame TC for the lack of central midfield signings.
I’d rather he was playing in central
    midfield
    Don't give Jones any ideas!
