Last week NJ said he would like 1 midfielder and 1 right winger. It's now looking like we'll be signing 2 midfielders and 1 right winger.

This must mean a midfielder will be leaving.
He always wanted two midfielders and with one already at the club … that’s why NJ said one

People rabbiting on about Lincoln like they’re San Marino. We haven’t beaten them in our last 4 meetings.
They also got 103 points on a very tight budget compared to our 85 points. If they kept Skubala I would be very concerned.

Fortunately Bristol City done us a favour in that regard and Cardiff weakened them by signing their best player.

One thing for certain is, they'll be a better side than Sheffield Wednesday and I can't see them being any worse than Leicester or Oxford.

Does Fofana play off the right or left? If we were close to signing him last year it would be someone Jones knows well.

Chelsea have a current squad of about 40 players so need to slim their squad down.

I expect to see Chalobah sign today, given Jones interview & potentially Kamara/Edozie in by Sunday/Monday with a premier League loan in central midfield also being eyed up, I don't think Holsgrove is going to happen
Extremely unlikely at this stage. Too many credible sources have said Pompey have agreed a fee and the medical is due today.

He was only ever going Pompey it seems.

Hopefully jones won’t play him at left wing.

I have no problem with the 3-5-2 - the formation wasn’t the problem, it was how slow we countered and a sheer lack of urgency in attack and creativity most games.

                    GK
       Ramsay Jones Koumieto
           Coventry Chalobah
     TC                               Ali
                  Knibbs
             Leaburn Grant

Definitely not Leaburn he belongs in League 2.

Apply a VERY heavy 'one of our own' weighting to these

Yeah it's really hard to tell what Jones was hinting at in regards to the winger when he went off on a tangent about ball boys. Hoping all will be clear by Monday, although feel like a broken record hoping for clarity this window

I don’t think so. Our young players get a harder time than imports.  He was mobile and gave his best , pressed well.  The 2013-16 Cousins would improve us now .

NJ “Last year, as was documented, we had probably the second lowest budget. With the teams that have come up now and the investment that is going on, we won’t be too dissimilar to that [again].

GC “We want to move the wage bill up towards the third quartile. Whether we will be bottom of the third quartile or top of the fourth quartile, I don’t know. We were second or third lowest wage bill last season.”

    Which is it??
I only have a vague memory of this but don’t EFL clubs anonymously submit their player budgets so they can work out where they sit compared to the rest of the league? If I’ve not completely imagined that then perhaps GC made those comments before the results are back or is holding back.
Both of those quotes were made this week regarding our budget
That's it! Keep searching for something to beat the club up with...

Why are so many so called 'supporters' constantly looking for something to moan about? Isn't this the opposite of 'supporting'? As in 'undermining'?

Maybe we should form an 'Official Charlton Athletic Underminers Group'. Golfie could be honorary life president...
It’s the bedwetters massive. They’ll moan at anything

Seems like you are looking for something to moan about, this time other moaners.

Brilliant! I think they're all in denial that we haven't got much money. Try and blame everything else rather than face the fact we're not as flush as they'd like.

Just my opinion, it seems to me that the sale of TC will allow us to sign a CM with a decent fee. What are fans thoughts, if that turns out to be correct?

Disappointing if correct - we need a good CM addition or 2 but we also need TC

If we get £3m+ then yes, I'd take that deal.

Gavin Carter did say we would spend a similar amount this year to last year, dependant on the amount of players that leave. Not sure if he was talking about numbers, or value. But the amount we have spent this year can't be anywhere near what we spent last year as it currently stands.

But I think we have a pretty unbalanced squad at the minute IMO, with a midfield that isn't up to the level. We have a defence that is unproven when playing 4 at the back and an incredibly defensive 3-5-2 if we switch back to that. As much as I would hate to see him leave, if it allowed us to sort out midfield and give us a chance of staying up, then I would take it.

Alli and Grant even Fullah can play LW wouldn’t  be a disaster TBH. TC is a good player but not irreplaceable, the negative is TC is young and I think will get better with time.

My QPR mate reckons Kolli is a good shout for a loan, fallen out with manager.
Was impressed with him at The Valley when he came on , offered more than Saito had. Think he's another that plays off the left though?
No, plays up front apparently, in his opinion better than Kelman only 20/21 but then I think again and hopefully Mbick can break through

Current players that would count towards the 25 man squad limit:

    Kaminski, Mannion, Brooks

Ramsay, McNamara, Asiimwe, Jones, Sichenje, Burke, Bell, Koumetio, Edwards, Mesik

    Coventry, Docherty, Rakin-Costello, Knibbs, Carey

    Apter, Campbell, Grant, Alli

    Godden, Leaburn, Kelman, Tanto, Kanu

    Players that would not count:
    Gough, Enslin, Mwamba, Fuller, Mbick

That’s a total of 32 players with 27 counting towards the limit.

We can assume Asiimwe, Tanto, and Kanu will
move on. Brings the total down to 24. Ideally we need to move on another one or two on top of those 3 mentioned.

Important to note that as far as I understand, any loan players signed, no matter of age, count towards the 25 man squad.

For us to sign at least 2 players, ideally we need at least 3 (we’ve covered the positions), we need at least 4 players to leave.

Lots of work to do before we can finalise a squad.

Let’s hope we get a bit of movement over the next day or two and can see things start to take shape.

I can see Brooks heading out on loan.
I can't, NJ loves having 3 keepers, it's why we brought him in when we let AMB go

Every team has 3 keepers and that why Brooks won't go out on loan without a replacement number 3.
We need any money for wages for a midfielder as well as a possible transfer fee.
