One year contract, low risk, great technical and physical footballer when fit. Don’t mind that at all.
  • Decent enough pick up on a free transfer. Get another in and we will be in a decent position. Concerned about his injury record but as part of a larger squad he might be okay

Alright if We get another mid in as He's made of glass apparently and was playing for a team that went down and could be doing that again if we don't fix the issues (have I done that right?)

Just need a dynamic and impactful CM now, to be the midfield magician now!

That and a Right Wing Star

Can see how desperate we've all become for any signing

Fine as an option, but we need the next CM announcement to be a proper good player

One year contract makes it worthwhile. If he stays fit great, if not at least we aren’t being Burke'd
  • Kept our powder dry with this one 😉

He was on £20k a week at Wednesday - so I can’t imagine that it will be much less here.

That’s over a million in wages for the contract, not exactly peanuts.

I doubt we're paying him that much 15k max i reckon

I reckon less than that, probably with some sort of bonus for appearances to keep costs down if he doesn’t play. No one else will be offering him 15k a week with his record.

I like it though. Fully fit he’s a top 6 championship midfielder, if not bottom prem. if he can make 15 appearances (45 points to play for) that could be the difference between going down and staying up.

NJ “Last year, as was documented, we had probably the second lowest budget. With the teams that have come up now and the investment that is going on, we won’t be too dissimilar to that [again].

GC “We want to move the wage bill up towards the third quartile. Whether we will be bottom of the third quartile or top of the fourth quartile, I don’t know. We were second or third lowest wage bill last season.”

    Which is it??
I only have a vague memory of this but don’t EFL clubs anonymously submit their player budgets so they can work out where they sit compared to the rest of the league? If I’ve not completely imagined that then perhaps GC made those comments before the results are back or is holding back.
Both of those quotes were made this week regarding our budget
That's it! Keep searching for something to beat the club up with...

Why are so many so called 'supporters' constantly looking for something to moan about? Isn't this the opposite of 'supporting'? As in 'undermining'?

Maybe we should form an 'Official Charlton Athletic Underminers Group'. Golfie could be honorary life president...
Our supporters are no different from any other clubs. Take, for example, Braziliance. Based on his entertaining Vlogs I suspect he doesn’t miss many games, home or away. I don’t think anyone could doubt his passion and support for the club. In recent pages he has voiced his concern regarding this summer’s transfer business and not addressing the midfield sooner. It’s all about opinions and nothing to with undermining.

One point I don’t think anybody has made yet, I think he could be a great influence on Mwamba too.

Just woken up 39,000 feet above Northern Ireland an hour out from Heathrow with dribble all down my arm to find the signing we’ve all been waiting for is Chalobah.

What a time to be alive.

Completely agree. Would love to see a midfield pivot of Chalobah and Mwamba tomorrow. Think that could be a partnership that blossoms very well.

Id be staggered if he was on anything like that much. He’s an injury plagued 31 year old who’s just been relegated to league one who no one else wanted. He’s clearly a talented player and I’m pleased we’ve signed him but surely no way we’re risking that much on him.
