    So Steve Evans has been patient and waiting since May to get a player he wanted.

    I think I read somewhere that the injury Godden had last season was the first time he has had a ‘proper’ injury other than minor knocks. Obviously he has therefore not been available for half of the time we have had him, but to say he is “always injured” is not really fair for his career as a whole. 

    I am hoping that those problems are now behind him and that he can make a real impact this season.

    Yes, ideally we could do with another striker, but good ones are expensive, and we could use that money better elsewhere.

    You overstate the threat. Leaburn only needs two or three games to get his mojo back. There have been signs already. Then he will be good Championship quality.

    Godden is not always injured, and he too only needs two or three games to get back to his best.

    As we are not signing the lumbering Dykes, I would keep Kanu, at least until the window closes. There are always clubs looking desperately for a goalscorer by that point and we will get the best price. Or if either Leaburn or Godden are not performing, we could decide to keep him.

    If there is any money left in the kitty by close of window (doubtful, I accept), and all the other gaps have been satisfactorily filled, then we might sign a striker on loan, but it is not an absolute priority. With an improved midfield, I am sure our present strkers will score 10-15 goals more than last season.

    On the other hand, I think you are too optimistic about Kelman. I cannot see him back to his best much before Christmas, and even then I am not sure his best is good enough for the Championship.

    Anyway.....I expect to get picked apart again & told I have no clue.

    Our attendances are pretty good you're right but we don't do well commercially. Some of the deals other teams have in this league blow us out the water. And then we don't sell players well so don't have the profit there

    we have far too big a playing staff and it must be costing a fortune to keep them all for no proper return ..  we surely have a lot of players 'available for sale' but it seems few, if any of them are wanted by other clubs

    But not Dykes! No, no, no, no. Donkey. Who's since signed for a side higher up the food chain.

    Godden (always injured). Two seasons ago he was so injured he only scored 20 goals... One season he was out for, which he said is the only long term injury he's ever had. And from that he's gone to 'always injured'...

    Our attendances are pretty good you're right but we don't do well commercially. Some of the deals other teams have in this league blow us out the water. And then we don't sell players well so don't have the profit there
    Yeah sponsorship wise we'll be right down the bottom of the pack and we've not had that big sale of an academy product yet that a lot the league seem to get every year-18 months or a major sell on clause coming in.
