That’s it then he’s guaranteed to be shit if Andy Scott thinks he’s ok.

Everything alright? Making miserable comments all day 😂
Yes absolutely fine, will try harder to be more ecstatic about things tomorrow!😂

hearing from my reliable source inside Sparrows Lane that we can expect three deals to happen today - Chalobah is apparently joining on a two year deal, Olaofe is being loaned to Lincoln Red Imps, and Gough is being sold to Bristol City.
I heard Chalobah only 1 year deal and Gough on loan to Bristol Rovers

Wow that’ll be a frustrating blow in a number of ways if it’s in any way long term

While I’m in a negative mood, I wonder what happens after a month of the season when Chalobah, Burke, Bell possibly Leaburn all get their inevitable injuries?, how’s the squad looking then? Doesn’t really smack of learning lessons of not shopping in the injury prone freebie market.
What if the budget that is available means they know the risks and the lessons learnt but they can't afford to do anything else? I mean, they're professionals, I'm sure they've considered this. They tried the players from L1 route and that wasn't a great success but then we couldn't even afford the best from L1.
I don't understand all this limited budget guff. Clubs can only spend 85% of their revenue , plus an additional £35m (over 3 years) of owners cash input. So a lot if clubs are capped by their revenue.

So is our revenue really in the bottom 3 or 4 - esp if you add in a further £10m+ per season of owners money. I thought our attendances were pretty good. I suppose it comes down to player sales - some of the lesser clubs must have really sold well over the past year or so.

Anyway.....I expect to get picked apart again & told I have no clue.

    Just call me Mr Idiot.

I’ve always had the impression you couldn’t get your head around the difference between what a club can spend and what the owners are actually willing to spend. This post just proves it. One day it might sink in.

Keep posting Golfie, it always makes me chuckle!

Perfect. Scott loves getting rid of a club’s best midfielder.
    See now THAT is funny

If that is true and it's in any way long-term, we need a right back on loan... Can't go into the season with McNamara our only fit right back, he has had injury issues

Are we still recruiting using the rule of 8 certainties, 8 squad and 8 youth players, or whatever it was?
If so, can anyone put our current squad in the relevant boxes to see where we are short?

    Elite (9) (for Charlton standards)
    Ramsay
    Jones
    Bell
    Edwards
    Chalobah
    New CM (Holsgrove?)
    New RW (?)
    Grant
    Kelman

    squad (13)
    Kaminski
    Mannion
    McNamara
    Sichenje
    Burke
Koumetio (could go elite- need to see more)
    Mesik
    Coventry
    Doc
    Knibbs
    Carey
    Alli
    Godden

    Academy (5)
    Brooks
    Mwamba
    TC
    Leaburn
    Mbick

Obviously every player is up for debate if they’re squad/elite that will come down to opinion.

This is based on the assumption Asiimwe Kanu JRC and Apter are moved on for squad space to make way for the new signings again can debate could TC go over Apter Doc/Cov over JRC etc (and that Fullah goes on loan).

Harder to integrate youngsters now we’re in the championship so doubt we get 9 until we get to a Cat 1 Academy

TC and Leaburn are both 22 coming up to 23, so not classed as Academy I think.

Imagine Assimwe will be staying then if that's the case which isn't great as he's looked poor pre season.

Time to dip into the loan market if it's long term.

Don't want that though surely? Two injury prone right backs and we will just end up like we did when Edwards got injured last season.

    1) No thanks
    2) He breaks down every time he play CB, if we ask him to get up and down the line he will be in a wheelchair

Can we please not do this again. It reeks of "Bell can play left wing back" and look how that turned out

We don’t have much choice though. We don’t have the squad space to bring in another right back

If Ramsay is injured then we will have to make do with McNamara, Burke and maybe Sichenje can probably play there

Depends on how long he is out. If it's at least until January then he doesn't have to be registered which can open up a space for a loan signing.

Collins has been mentioned but had 2 injuries that have kept him out for fairly long periods since January.

Agree on this one, but we are playing a game of name the severely injury prone players for 1 position

If this is true and is long term, it'll be McNamara supported by Asiimwe, we don't have the budget or the squad space for anything else

I really wanna see Collins move into the midfield. I think he could be a gem there

If it's long term I'd rather dip into the loan market than have to cross my fingers that Danny Mac won't break down and then have to play someone out of position.

    Asiimwe needs a move.

I think he’s occasionally played in different roles down the right in the academy.

Very different to playing out of position in the Championship of course.

Gough would have been a very decent stand in for Ramsay
