Pardon my ignorance but why has everyone assumed this is happening ?
Came from Redrobo, one of the ITKs
    I reject being an ITK.
I heard one about Alli and now this rumour.
I considered not saying anything, but was feeling like the rest of you and it was far too exciting not to share.

If you are a pessimist here is something to hold on to. It comes from a lady who lives abroad.
Where does Katrien Meire live these days?

Another rumour has popped up… Word is that an unarmed Championship side is eyeing NZ international Callum McCowatt from Silkeborg. My mate — a season-ticket holder there — insists it’s Charlton. Knowing full well that I’m Charlton and part Kiwi, he could just be winding me up, so I’m treating this with a bucket‑sized pinch of salt.

We were watching another player who played for New Zealand ..
    And he joined Swansea

    For 6 mill
    after we offered 4 mill
  • Not quite ready to give up on Holsgrove just yet. By my maths if we got Holsgrove for £3m, McCowatt for £2m and Ouma for £3.5m it would equal...no f***ing chance. Ah to dream 😢

McCowatt played in three World Cup games. We were supposedly interested in Kiwi Eli Just but that rumour was started by Ronnie Moore I believe.

A totally random name from the continent that I will throw out there (with no link, just a name)…

    Callum McCowatt

New Zealand international attacking midfielder who scores goals. Plays for Silkeborg IF in the Danish Superliga. A player who could impress for them at the World Cup this summer and get a move. Contract up at the end of 2027.
@flyingkiwiDK 27th May I mentioned him as a possible replacement to my mind of Luke Berry. Be interesting if this comes about and if so, I ought to be a scout.

I was thinking about Campbell to Preston and decided if he wanted to go, we are better off selling him as it shows he has absolutely no ambition to improve. He needs to improve his game with us this season and get a better move as a result. He should sign a contract with us and go for this improvement. Failure to do so suggests he thinks he has gone as far as he can.
If we sign a decent right winger Campbell doesn't get a game anyway... Grant will start on the left

The annoying thing about the above two rumours, is it sounds like they’d both be perfect for us and how we want to play… which makes them both all the more frustrating when we sign Redmond and Coady… it’s the hope that kills.

Maybe the TC replacement? Not needed now if he's not moving perhaps?
He can play on the right, left and down the middle so wouldn’t be considered a TC replacement I would say.

My only reservation on him being the targeted RW, is Jones mentioned about the one V one quality / trait is what they were looking for.
Unsure he fits the bill in that regard?

I think that’s fine as long as we keep TC so that we’ve got more than one player in the squad with that kind of threat
Totally agree. My point was more around is that fine with Jones and the coaches in terms of what they want.

I've never been more certain of anything in my life that if we do sign Ouma he will be absolutely brilliant for the first 4 or 5 games and then get a really bad injury that keeps him out for months and that he never properly recovers from. Maybe I just have Ahmed Kashi trauma from remembering him looking like peak Kishishev in his first few games and then coming back and looking like peak me but I know this to be true

I heard Phil Chapple got the train to watch our new signing. He caught the 3:10 to Ouma.
    Deserves a clap

Alan’s been reading the forum then. He’s kept his power dry for us.
  • I don't know what's happening, but I like it.

Could be. Bit more doubtful on that one now they've signed Burgzorg.

Of all the injuries we’ve had to endure since dropping out of the Prem I think Kashi’s is up there with those that hurt the most for exactly the reasons as described. And it wasn’t even an injury during a game it all started from a rumour which always seem to be the worst. Probably on a par with Wiggins injury as amongst the ones that hurt us most.

In January 2026, Ouma was excluded from the club’s winter training camp in Abu Dhabi due to a breach of internal team discipline, and he was assigned to train with the reserve team pending improvement in his conduct.[14][15] He rejoined the senior team in February.[16] Ouma made 34 appearances for Lech, including 19 starts, as they won the 2025–26 Ekstraklasa title. He returned to Slavia after the season concluded.[17]
