MANNION: 5 Don’t understand why you don’t catch the ball when you can get two hands to it!? Looked shaky at crosses today 1 good save.
McNAMARA: 7 solid, worked hard and nothing flash or silly.
JONES: 6 made a few uncharacteristic errors in possession. Failed to play it simply through midfield. Hopefully just adjusting to the formation.
KOUMETIO: 7 big strong defender and has good feet. Not much wrong but still to be tested.
BELL: 6 did better than expected at left back, good feet for a big guy and the odd foray into midfield gave us options.
COVENTRY: 7 battled and broke up play nicely, worked well with Chalobah.
CHALOBAH: 8 looks very tidy in the ball and reads the game well. Definitely a good addition.
CAMPBELL: 6 good against low level opposition, Mc Namara had to call him back a few times to help out defensively. Much better when on the left.
CAREY: 6.5 good goal and often a threat but does dwell on the ball and not always pick the right option.
GRANT: 6 nice touches and tidy play, worked hard both ways, looked better coming inside when on the right. Unsure what he is, winger? Right sided striker?
GODDEN: 7.5 incredible link up play, he was brilliant at dropping to allow a pass to feet and then dropping it off to start the attack. Work rate was superb as usual.
Referee: 6
LEABURN 6 won some headers and put himself about. Will be an impact sub this season I suspect.
MESIK: 6 looks comfortable and a reliable work horse. Looked ok at either full back position.
SICHENJE: 6 not a lot to do, don’t think he will be used at right back in the champ.
ALLI: 6 flashes but need to see more to make a judgement.

MANNION: 4.5 - had very little to do but was very poor for the Cheltenham goal and went into panic mode thereafter.
McNAMARA: 7 - a good debut: solid, no-nonsense defending
JONES: 6 - some early wayward passing and I think he was partly to blame for the goal we conceded. Largely untroubled otherwise
KOUMETIO: 7 - one miskick could have proved costly but he looked generally assured and can certainly pick a pass
BELL: 6.5 - a little uneven early in the game but grew into the left back role. Moved effectively into midfield towards the end of the game
COVENTRY: 7.5 - a strong performance, with some good, progressive, forward passing. Played a beautiful ball into TC, who went on to hit the bar
CHALOBAH: 8 - an imperious first half, when he was the master of the field; understandably tired in the second, although getting 90 minutes under his belt will hopefully improve his level of fitness
CAMPBELL: 7.5 - went past opponents at will and scored a beautiful goal. The new system should benefit his game
CAREY: 7 - some very positive runs forward and could easily have had a hat-trick
GRANT: 7 - his pace unsettled Cheltenham in that first half. I think he will prove an important acquisition
GODDEN: 6.5 - a lovely finish
Referee: 7 - whilst the game was played in a good spirit, I thought the ref was very good. Always a good sign when you hardly notice the officials.
LEABURN: 7 - helped us regain control of the game with his physicality, ball control and ability to bring others into the game
MESIK: 6 - looks a solid player
SICHENJE: 6 - good to see him back
ALLI: 6.5 - a nice cross for Carey's late headed chance and a couple of other dangerous runs at a tiring Cheltenham back line.

MANNION:5.5 looked Rusty but did a decent save after a CB mistake.
McNAMARA:7 Easy day at the office and seemed solid. Will be straight into the team against Derby with the ankle injury to Kayne where he will have a sterner test.
JONES:6.5 started off slow with wayward passing but improved as the game progressed.
KOUMETIO: 7 Billy did one swing and a miss which Mannion had to save by the post but for the rest of the match he looks a fine acquisition.
BELL:6.5 A class player on the ball who won't benefit from 4 at the back when exposed to a fast winger out wide. I like the new formation for most of the team but Lloyd and Amari'i may not agree !
COVENTRY:7 Conor was back to Mr Consistency but was that because we had League 2 opposition?
CHALOBAH:8.5 Exemplary 1st half performance with passing we haven't seen for decades! Like others, I was surprised he played 91 minutes.
CAMPBELL:8 He played well on both flanks against 4th tier defenders. Can he play like that against 2nd tier full backs ? With Grant on the other side whether Right or left will see a much better TC.
CAREY:8.5 I thought he was excellent with an assist for Godden, a well taken finish from the sublime run and pass from Nat and a fine left foot shot, plus a great header late on that the keeper pulled off good saves to keep the score down.
GRANT:7 slow start but does his defensive work as well as really good commanding runs with the ball. Karlan is a more nature player now and will be a fine asset to the team.
GODDEN:6.5 Took his goal well and goals are like oxygen to Matty as he lives and breathe.
Referee:7 I thought he was competent but he should have booked Miller for the studs into Chalobah Achilles in the 1st half which could've seen the injury prone Nat go off.
MESIK:6.5 need more time to assess but looks a strong no non sense defender.
Leaburn: 7 Miles got straight into it and he needs to play with this fire in his belly.
SICHENJE: 6.5 Ditto above yesterday and I need to see more of his reading of the game and decision making to see if should start before others.
ALLI:7 lovely cross for the powerful header from Carey late on that the sub keeper did a good save.
