May I make a suggestion re: links to tweets?

I know I’m not the only one who has no intention of signing up for Elon’s plaything, so I thought I’d ask a favour of those of you who find potentially interesting tidbits on there:
Could you do a quick screenshot of the tweet and post that as a picture instead? (Or as well if you like, I suppose?) Whenever I see a post linking to X, I tend to ask if someone can summarise the details, which someone often kindly does, but a screenshot would be handy too!
Just a thought! Thanks. ☺️

We went through a period not too long ago where anyone posting a link to X/Twitter should post the contents of the tweet as not everybody can access it, may not choose to, or may not be comfortable clicking any link.
agree with screenshots being posted instead as you suggest.

Agree.
Often avoids clicking on clickbait6 -
Ok @MartinCAFC I’ve edited it. All good?

I certainly try to add a screenshot or embed the text depending on if I’m on my phone or laptop. I also try to add it in if someone else doesn’t. Only time I don’t is with videos because that’s pointless. It isn’t hard to do and it does make life easier for everyone so I’m fully behind @lordromford on this one1

I used to try and post an embedded tweet so that everyone could still see it. It stopped working but I thought it was an issue my end. It’s a fair point, will screenshot in future.1

No need for an edit but fair play for doing so. Have edited as well.lordromford said:Ok @MartinCAFC I’ve edited it. All good?1 -

Not trying to be antagonistic, just sharing a thought for balance!Tech and the times have moved very quickly. Sometimes it ends up being simpler to handle things yourself rather than relying on others to always share news in a particular way. If the goal is just to view the content, setting up an account, switching off all notifications, and using it only for browsing doesn't seem too complex?0

The OP mentions having no intention of signing up to Musk’s plaything.mendonca said:Not trying to be antagonistic, just sharing a thought for balance!Tech and the times have moved very quickly. Speaking as probably one of the minority I don’t want to set up an account that is in honour of Musk either.
I simply accept being excluded from that world, the same with Facebook.
The frustrating bit is subscribing to the official club site, and paying up, yet the club puts out information and updates on xitter.
What has happened to me is being sneered at by some people on here because I am not on xitter.2 -
Can you not view tweets if you don’t have an account ?0

Can anyone confirm that xitter is actually pronounced "shitter"?0

No, it's the same nonsense as Facebook where they obscure the content with a popup urging you to funnel your money into Musk or Zuckerberg's bank account (as appropriate). Personally speaking I think the best way to address this is to ignore that platform altogether and enjoy any Charlton related news filtered through the hopeful and optimistic lens of the members of this fine forum. I totally understand that that won't work for everyone though.MrOneLung said:Can you not view tweets if you don’t have an account ?0 -
Alternatively their is the website xcancel that lets you view Twitter in full without needing an account
e.g. the official Charlton twitter looks like this
