I do think his morale is shot, though. The free kick he threw in his own goal, and the Wednesday howler, seem to have crippled his decision making.
I post on here nearly every day, sometimes 5 or 6 posts a day. Nearly all of them get derided. I get insulted, only yesterday someone called me "a charmer". "Likes" on my posts are rarer than dry farts in the Dominican Republic, where I now live.

Different nation, different league, though if they had any sense they would merge the two leagues. It would raise the standard and make their top clubs more competitive in Europe.

Kiely has probably been our best keeper over the past 40 years. Only Scott Carson (1 season loan) comes close imo. Then Nick Pope & then (perhaps surprisingly) Rob Elliot.TheHerminator said:

Funny the difference in League 1 to Champ. Two seasons ago I'd have loved Okonkwo or the Stockport keeper Addai. Both looked class, now I wouldn't want either.
We need a bit better. I think the goalie slot should almost always be filled by a loan from a prem team unless you have developed one yourself. Plenty of times over the year a loanee goalkeeper has done a job in this league, and it's arguably the least important position in terms of tactics. A good goalie can just slot in anywhere almost.
I'd say that he was the best in my lifetime and I go back to '76.3 -

A prem loan keeper would be good. Shame we didn’t go for Beadle as he’d get more game time with us. Coventry getting Rushworth was a fantastic move.
on loans more generally I’m not sure why we have a policy against them as you then usually are front of the queue for signing player who’d never have come to you permanently0 -

No chance he received a suspension and we ended up drawing 2-2 by conceding late goals then losing a replay 4 days later at Goodison 4-1. They were old 1st Division and we were 2nd.wolfgang said:

Absolutely Not. He was the first player I saw get sent off.
I thought the score was 4-0 at Everton, not that it makes any difference still same outcome.

Nathan specifically talked about the loaning of young players. I was skipping when I heard that Nathan was to be our manager, and was particularly pleased at the length of the contract. It is not a surprise to me that Clubs that have stuck with a manager are the ones that tend to be successful in the end.
I think it gives the manager time to plan ahead and build the whole clubs direction. Too many IMO are expected to deliver results immediately and this leads to the buying of oven ready players at top end prices and wages with little room for profit, in order to get results.Man Utd went for the instant solution and Arsenal went long.7 -

If we could add 2/3 players capable of playing in the championship we stand a chance of avoiding relegation. Keeping Godden fit & not overloading his game time is crucial. Unfortunately those 2/3 are going to cost a fair bit & as yet we are not sure of our budget. My feeling is the loan market is our way forward. I’m just not convinced we have much money to spend but with Jones we always have a fighting chance.0
