Let’s wack it in here.
On a related note, I knew my wife was a keeper the first time I met her. She was wearing size 5 Sondico gloves.

Anyone got any rumours?19

If folk watched the Championship highlights or live matches from 25/26 season as I did most weeks you will see many cases of keepers making howlers or they should've done better comments.
I would say both Mannion and Kaminski will be around 17th and 18th in the keeper pecking order in the Championship this season out of 24.
We really don't want to be spending money on a new keeper but we could do with better.0 -
Timothy Ouma signing this week apparently.roseandcrown said:Anyone got any rumours?2 -
Kaminski might be off to the low countries
Mannion won't often have felt lower than he did Saturday evening after blowing his chance to impress
CAFC will be needing at least one experienced professional goalkeeper just to stand still.
An upgrade on last season's roster is necessary
Where one finds that at any price is far from clear0 -

Is he playing rush goalie 🤔0 -
One of the best bits of keeping I've ever seen was this double save from Nick Pope

Ben Amos no look save.2

Kiely vs Dugarry1

Andy Petterson vs Palace at The Valley mid 90s. A save Gordan Banks would have been proud of and we won! Classic 90s look too haha! 4 -

Best save I have ever seen in real life.2 -
Ben Hamer at Brighton late on in a match.
Also Ben Hamer did that great penalty save against Leeds.
For balance Hamer also lingered on the ball and the ball ended up in our goal in losing to Colchester at home in our 100+ season.

Graham Tutt was my fave when I was a kid.0

I always felt we should have got more out of Stephan Andersen. He was a good keeper who went on to have an excellent career but it felt like he broke into the team at the time Curbs seemed to have developed a vendetta against his own keepers. Kiely had been injured but then was forced out a bit, Andersen I felt was blamed for us going through a phase of form where everyone was rubbish and dropped, then Thomas Myhre got in but always felt like a bit of a stopgap when we could have shown a bit of faith in Andersen and developed him more. It all ended up being a bit moot, we put Carson in the next season and got relegated anyway but there was a real talent in there that we stunted a bit I reckon0

Nick Pope out of favour at Newcastle since new manager has arrived, I wonder where he might end up?0

What with Mike Ammann we had some decent keepers around that time of our history.wmcf123 said:

I was tempted to mention Micky Salmon, but I was concerned it might escalate and leave us floundering in an entirely separate thread of fish puns

Always remember Andersen looking a class apart and thought it was a real shame he never got a proper chance. Can't say I had kept track of his career but just had a quick look and he seemingly went on to do very good things which is no surprise.Garrymanilow said:I always felt we should have got more out of Stephan Andersen. Pretty sure I also have a Sergio Leite autograph hanging around in the attic for anyone who remembers him.0
