Apparently Okonkwo refused a contract extension and that's why Wrexham splashed out £8 million on Patterson, so he could be available. His contract has a year to run.
We need to go all out to get him in, still only young and is a fantastic keeper.
He does have a clanger in him but many keepers do, and he’d be a solid acquisition. I think he’ll have plenty of suitors unfortunately but London link may help 🤞

Sheff Utd have signed Kalvin Phillips….making it unlikely they will bring in Jordan Holsgrove as well.

A move to the Valley could be back on.
But JH is extremely uninterested in coming here apparently.
The long walk from New Eltham station is putting him off. Once he learns about the short cut through Tiverton Drive, with its blue plaque where Doucher used to live, he will be reassured.
Why haven't the club shouted about this more to potential signings?

NJ said he  knew the rw target. We know that we offered Dykes a contract. I still think there's surprises going and hopefully more coming in.
I'm sure NJ strongly suggested we didn't?

We didn’t offer a contract to Dykes .. Jones confirmed we were not in for him

  • playing in front of about 12 players

Frees up squad space? Like that a lot.
Do MK start with 13 players in many matches?

How does it free up squad space? He is u21.

Don't think we'd spend the amount they'd be after (suspect only £2-3m but even so), and think he might feel he could do better as well.

But I agree that he'd seem a good signing if it could happen - local lad, only 24 so room to improve (and I think he needs to a bit), but better than Kaminski now.

Abdul Abdulmalik, a player who has never played above non-league level, is apparently better than TC, one of the key players in a Championship side. People are just saying whatever now then are they?
Jamie Vardy, Sorba Thomas, Ian Wright, Chris Smalling, Stuart Pearce, Les Ferdinand, Michail Antonio, Ollie Watkins, Jared Bowen, all started off in non league, got signed up by a pro team and have gone onto have brilliant careers.
You can put non league level down as much as you want but there are plenty of cases where players have been signed directly from there and gone onto be really successful, and all of those were better than TC when signed by these pro teams by a country mile.
You know the players listed by name precisely because making the step up is so vanishingly rare. Signing a player from non-league to the Championship isn’t guaranteed to fail, but statistically it probably will.
I listed the most successful ones as they’re common knowledge to football fans in general or particularly the ones that follow non league as well.

Plenty of others that got signed from non league directly to the championship and became very solid players in the champ. Adam Le Fondre, Steve Cook, Grant Holt, and Jermaine Beckford to name a few. Probably a whole load I’m forgetting about as well.
It’s becoming more and more common now though. Plenty of gems can be picked up from non league if you look deep enough into it. Obviously not non league but our very own Ademola Lookman was picked up by us when playing for Sunday league Waterloo.

Not to be pedantic but I don't think either Adam Le Fondre or Steve Cook came through non league clubs

We were "in discussions" with Dykes back in early May, but more recently NJ denied that we offered him an improved deal before he signed for Millwall.

Nixon confirming that TC wants to stay in London and doesn’t want to move up north.
I mean if that’s true (it’s Nixon so a big big if) then him staying and signing a new deal feels a lot more likely.

I still think he could have a Dale Stephens satnav moment though and end up moving away, but just to someone better than Preston

So realistic moves - QPR, Watford? Fucking hope not Smallwall.

    maybe a midlands club?

I think either QPR or Watford would be fantastic moves for him. Both have a good record with attacking players and won’t hold them back if they do well and bids come in for them

Still hoping we can convince him to stay here though

Fullah to MK Dons on loan according to O’Rourke. Good move for him
Brilliant move. He’ll smash it there I reckon!
The next Mbick (who I think will be starting for us by season end).

Will go there, smash it, and come back to a first team role.

Millwall have had an eye on him for a while. Azeez goes and they need a winger they may come back for him

    @NabySarr
    That's brilliant!
For clarity, this coach was not the efforts of @NabySarr

Le Fondre came through the youth system at Stockport long before they dropped out of the football league.

Been over this many times, read back the interview, he literally gets asked about Kamara and his reply is "I know the player (Kamara) very very well, let's see where he ends up"

Made a couple of great saves in our two games vs Disney FC last year, but both the season preview podcasts I listened to this week specifically highlighted the number of errors he made last season making him a weak link for Wrexham.

People think he gets a hard time with us, imagine the abuse he’d get if he played shit at the toolbox!!!
  • Let’s start random rumours to throw Nixon off.

I’ve heard Lloyd Jones won’t be joining West Ham this window. A deal was close between the two clubs but Jones doesn’t want to join due to a phobia of bubbles.

The interview on the CAFC YouTube he said we would not go in for him as we already have 6 players in that position
