...............TK
McNamara Jones (C) Billy Bell
...........Coventry Chalobah
Grant ....Carey.........TC
............Godden
Subs (which is hard given the size of our squad at the moment): Mannion, Collins, Mesik, Ouma, Doc, JRC, Knibbs, Alli, Leaburn
I'm excited for the season. We know we need a RW, but other than that our squad is pretty set and we have a lot more depth than we did this time last season. Ramsay could be a big miss but hopefully McNamara provides decent cover. He's not great going forward, but neither is our Kayne.
I think we'll be in a lot of games this season, as we were last year. It's just a question of if we can turn that into wins and sometimes draws. Losing Clarke's long throw means losing the source of a lot of our goals from last year. Hopefully Carey's long throws plus his and Grant's free kicks make up for that--and then we improve in the press and on the break to add goals.
Would be massive to start with a win. Derby have injuries and haven't done a lot of business this summer. We looked poor for about 2 of 4 halves against them last season, and decent in the other two halves. So it should be interesting.1 -
It’s most definitely on. Just hope the red button works unlike last week 😡

Allowed to be shown on TV as there are no Premier League games.2

Good idea. Drop Chalobah! He might put a bit of effort into it if he is ever given another chance.Gisappointed said:Brookes

2-1 win , Godden at the double.1

Like FA I think the starting line up will be the same as last Sat. And If I had to stik my neck out I'd go for a home win.
2-1.2 -
Cobwebs blown, at least three league debuts (likely more if including subs) and an encouraging three points to kick us off. Derby are not in turmoil but unsettled so timing is right to play them as others suggest. 3-10

Mbick comes off the bench and scores the winner.
He gets another three before the end of the month and that convinces Brighton to pay £10 million for him, with no time for us to reinvest it.0 -

Lincoln beat Derby in the League Cup last week .. are Lincoln not so bad as supposed, or are Derby not so good ?
I wasn't too impressed with the Derby defence, there again it might not have been their first choice playing in the cup
The win at Cheltenham albeit against a struggling L2 outfit has done our morale a power of good
Chalobah made a BIG difference, we scored 3 good goals, the defence (keeper excepted and despite a few Jones's dodgy passes) pretty sound, as New Labour sang 'Fings can only get better'
Charlton start the season with a home win1 -
Charlton 1 - 0 Derby
Grant
And a really good performance.
Curbs predicting 10th
Lisbie predicting 8th
Brownie predicting 15th
If we are going to get up the table the Valley needs to become a fortress1 -
Derby
Takeover fallen through- mood low
Only 2 additions from last season squad (both squad players)
Best player just got injured
Just lost to Lincoln- Confidence low
in theory absolutely no better time to be playing them would predict a draw usually but reckon we can nick a win

None of them were going to stand there and say outright that we will be bottom 6. Curbs did say the aim should be consolidation . I think the only way we finish top half is if Chalobah stays fit and Ouma turns out to be the second coming of Kantemascot88 said:Charlton 1 - 0 Derby

Thanks Clive, the good news is we’re traveling today and at the moment it’s on time. Drinks with my family tonight, hopefully recovered by game time as it’s usually a bit of a session.clive said:SomervilleAddick said:Looking forward to it. My prediction is my digital season ticket won't work for the 2nd year running, i'll be queuing with hundreds of others waiting to get a physical season ticket printed and miss the first 15mins of the game.
1-1.0 -
My prediction, I will try to enquire at the ticket office why my West Ham ticket has not arrived after 10 days, and be told they cannot doing any thing until Saturday 22, in the meantime I reckon it will be Charlton 0 Deby 2. Just feel team seems unread for the season.3
-
Same team as last week for me - this game will tell us so much - i feel positive about it - if it goes wrong, the outfall will be huge - the shrewd business we think we've done will be downgraded to bargain basement cheap cast offs - i'm genuinely thinking its been shrewd but let's see. Either way, we need to stick behind NJ and the team.1
-
I'm really nervous about tomorrow. Desperately need to get off to a fast start especially with West Ham & Spurs to follow. 3 defeats on the spin could be a very real possibility. I'm such a positive fella!

Just glad it will be a bit cooler tomorrow- roasting in Charlton today.
My biggest concern is our defence - seems unlikely to be as solid as last season.0 -

if you assume that Koumetio is an upgrade on Macca then if the season starts poorly , we will revert to the back 5 and we will be solid . Goalkeeper is a worry but it was last season.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:Just glad it will be a bit cooler tomorrow- roasting in Charlton today.

Lancashire lad, do you also post under the handle, Happy Valley 😃2 -
Defensively we've looked poor in pre-season especially against Reading. Both Mannion and Kaminski have looked poor.wmcf123 said:

Agreed , which is why I expect the return to the back 5.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:
