Looked completely disinterested and almost deliberately shit on the right - to the point where I thought he must be off next week, completely different player on the left and you could see loved scoring his goal which was a cracking powerful finish. His celebration definitely didn’t look like an academy player on his way.I said in the post match thread, it looked like he’s getting into some of the dark arts now and letting defenders know he won’t be pushed around and bullied. He looks a bit stronger, too.Sign the contract, big boy, sign the contract.2

stats speak for themselves 3 goals in 45 appearances.. compare that with say Knibbs 3 goals in 26 ….. plus only two assists one less then the player everyone says should not be in the team etc Doc

Don’t know about anyone else, but getting tired of this TC hater phrase every time he does something good to make a point. TC at times does good and bad in equal measure, hopefully this is the season he does a lot more good. Hate is a strong word and to apply it when talking about a player giving his all for us is a bit sad. TC infuriates me at times, today he was in the most part good. I’m happy he is ours and will judge him from game to game.

Fair play Campbell. Last season it was clear more end product was needed and he’s delivered in consecutive games.Hopefully signs a juicy new long term deal.3

Some of the criticism of TC recently and last year has been about his lack of left foot.
But there have been positive signs in the last couple of games. He hit the bar against Cheltenham, scored today and put in a couple of nice crosses in both games including a beauty today that nearly resulted in a Danny Mac goal. All with his left foot.
I reckon it’s been a big focus point of his summer and I think it might transform him from a divisive talent to a beloved one.9 -
Continues to improve and nice to see him growing in confidence. Stood up to the physical challenges of the Derby players.

TC has to play on the left now, but also feel Grant is too good to leave out. Maybe Grant could play through the middle up top. Be some counter attacking pace with TC, Grant and a new pacy right winger as a front 33

What’s got to be said first 30 mins he was terrible .. wasted 6 good opportunities to create a chance ,and this is going to hold him back — no final ball or poor decision making …. But once he switched a different player and one we not seen for over 12 months since our league one days .. he was excellent second half and deserved his goal …….13

We’ve seen that player, so has NJ. Hence why he’s still in the team despite signing two who can play in his position.
What’s great is if (and yes it’s a big if) he scores 10 and assists 10 this season that’s stil potentially 20 odd games in which he can do neither so everyone will be happy - we’ll see end product, TC will be sold for a big fee and you’ll be able to celebrate us finally getting rid of him.7 -

CAMPBELL: 8 - MOTM. Not just for the goal, which was wonderfully taken. Not just for winning the free kick that led to the opener. Not just for the fact that he consistently had his man on toast. But for the fact that he challenges for the header in the build up to the first goal that leads to a lovely touch from Chalobah and the ball from Grant into Jones for the goal. I said it last weekend, I'll say it again, if you don't get him by now, you probably never will. Sign the contract, TC!10 -

Still had a bloke behind me calling him CC and then actually using the c word - when he beat a player and passed to Chalobah on the edge of the area who then lost the ball but somehow it was still TC’s fault 🤷♀️ So anyone who still claims the anti TC stuff is made up is welcome to DM me to swap seats. Basically for some it’s still not good enough unless he beats three players and scores every time he gets the ball.Wishing everyone, apart from those eejits who are a disgrace to the Charlton shirt, a lovely rest of the night.13

Brilliant performance, and he did nothing for this first half hour.If he was a new signing we’d be thinking we’d signed a world beater, but some will have made their minds up on him a long time ago. I said before that the signing of other wingers will hopefully make people appreciate his qualities. We saw a tired TC towards the end of the year, but he looked electric yesterday.
We will need to find a way to balance the team if (hopefully when) we confirm he is staying; both TC and Grant struggled on the right hand side. However, it’s great to have someone else out there that teams need to worry about.8 -
He is really making a name for himself. That there are a small number not appreciating that shows how thick regarding football some people are. Can I say that, I mean everybody is entitled to their opinion, right! Yes I can say it, it is coming to the point where any team in this league will have him.
He won't be going anywhere this season, and whilst I would be delighted, I can't see him signing a contract with us.The reason I suspect is the same. If he stays, he will get a signing on fee next season in excess of £2m. Why would you tie yourself to a club like Preston and lose that? If we are going to get him to sign we will have to put a very valuable package together and he may sign it because he knows we will always sell for the right price. And it makes sense to stay here whilst he continues to progress. But I reckon we have him for the season.3 -
Incredibly, we saw TC in his best position yesterday in a system that will get the best out of him.
Never thought I'd see it. Optimistic for the season now.4 -
I think it was clear he had to sharpen up in a few areas. He has always been a player who can beat defenders for fun. His crossing and shooting needs to improve a bit and I think we are seeing this happen. Now I mentioned in the week that he showed signs that he can be more accurate shooting and we saw the evidence for a spell in League One. I got one or two Lols which I don't mind, they are only showing themselves up. Two great finishes in two games.2

He has been absolutely unplayable the last two games - very excited to see what he does this season2

Someone in front of me was having a go at Campbell for not pressing 20 yards out wide to the wingback on the halfway line, in the 95th min of the game.Sometimes I really do question whether some people should be allowed to watch football25

Very late on the ref actually pulled Derby up for about the first time all match for grappling - in this case Leaburn - to the ground. The ball ran free to TC to break from halfway so if only the ref had played on. But actually I reckon TC breathed a sigh of relief as he’d completely run himself into the ground by that point.2

Leaburn and TC changed the game for us.
Let’s try and keep our best young players and I include Ibby and DK in that.
May not always be possible, but I hope TC signs this week !5
