Many thanks for your thoughts and good wishes. I’m now in the Chartwell Ward at the PRU. King’s are discussing whether to close this cancer ward and transfer all in-patient haematology cancer care to Denmark Hill. There has been a strongly supported petition (now closed) objecting to the plan. I signed it a couple of months ago because of how well my late wife was treated here in 2023. Little did I know at the time I’d be needing it myself!
For haematology cancer patients in Bromley, Beckenham, Orpington, Chislehurst etc, that need to be in hospital, and for their families and friends, the prospect of having to schlep all the way to Denmark Hill is crap. Driving there is useless because there is very little parking for such a huge hospital. It is a wonderful hospital, but the number of times I’ve had to go there by train and bus, it has never taken less than an hour.
Anyway, rant over.
Thanks to the excellent care I am getting here, I am feeling a bit better and my chemo treatment is ‘on hold’ for the moment. The doctor told me this morning that I have been making slow & steady progress. My blood tests still show quite a number of abnormalities, so I’m still getting 3 doses of IV antibiotics a day and other treatments. The results of my bone marrow biopsy won’t be known for a few days.
Kent’s batters didn’t do much to cheer me up this afternoon, and I couldn’t get the match stream but maybe that’s as well.
As ever, best wishes to other sufferers of any form of cancer and their loved ones.

You definitely didn't miss anything from Hove this afternoon. Apart from Joe & Harry, our batting was pathetic & it sounded as though the wicket was similar to the issues at Lords ....but then the Sussex guys had little or no problem. 

You certainly dodged one today !

Pleased for you and your mum, whilst we didn't have such a good outcome we couldn't fault Maidstone at all.
