The phasing will never be perfect for everyone but I think the club generally get it about right - but the one thing I'd agree with is this. Surely someone who's renewed their ST continuously for 10, 20 or 30+ years (especially during the dross of L1) should have a level of priority over someone who, for example, has had 2 years as a ST holder now we're back in the ChampionshipRedvalleyeast said:

I see no way Bob that it doesn’t reach Phase 7. I doubt it will get to Phase 8.No system is perfect though, but perhaps as suggested already only two tickets per person if one is an under 18, otherwise just one ticket.Just doesn’t seem realistic to me. I don’t think there’s been a single game (bar the uniqueness of Cray Valley) where a ticket sale hasn’t included the OR VG levelI agree. It's phase 8 that it won't reach - i.e. supporters who have been ST holders for the last two years. There are 3,000 VG members - and those that don't qualify for an earlier phase will be able to get 2 tickets at Phase 7 even if they have never been to a single game.
extra points for renewing per season
1-3 (seasons) = 5 points per season
4-6 = 10 points
7-9 = 15 points
10-12 = 20 points
13-15 = 25 points
16-20 = 30 points
and so on
Thats per season added to your total because it shows real commitment
I've had a season ticket every year since we returned to the Valley4 -

At Present it’s just two consecutive seasons?I’ve had a season ticket for 35yrs, (including a 10yrs season ticket) & it would be good to see this recognized and rewarded maybe 5pts per year?I also think for high profile matches ie Hammers, Spurs, Millwall etc it makes sense to be one away ticket per season ticket. It does seem a bit unfair that a 2nd ticket purchased could go to an irregular fan (friend : family) who just fancies a day out at Spurs swanky new ground. It is what it is at present, But is there an argument that repeated renewals of Season tickets make a bigger contribution to the club & reflected in points system?8 -
The lower tier is the regular away section.AFKABartram said:Only lower tier on sale at moment and doesn’t look like any more than a couple of hundred have gone in Phase 1
Daft why they don't just put all blocks on sale at the same time, when it's blindingly obvious that this will easily sell out. And e tickets anyway, so it's not as if the ticket office has to hunt for paper tickets to post out.3 -
Is this likely to be a seating free for all or will fans be expected to sit in their allocated seat? Suspect the latter at a stadium like this...2

My only issue is that Valley Gold putting you on the same level as a season ticket holder feels a bit much on its own. To me, it would make more sense for Valley Gold to simply give you 100 or so loyalty points. That way, it tops up whatever points you’ve earned through buying tickets and could potentially nudge you up a phase or two, without putting you on the same footing as a season ticket holder.

Also, the club every year quite rightly have a huge campaign about renewing season tickets for the following season, and yet when it comes to priority situations like this, there is no reward beyond two years.TootingRedArmy said:Rufus is a dogs name said:

We probably have c 9-10K fans who have been season ticket holders over the past two years. You can’t prioritise for allocations of 3-6K away tickets on that basis. The current system takes account of and rewards loyalty based on:
- regular away attendance over and above having a ST
- supporters who choose to pay into the VG scheme and support the Academy - this is effectively our long-standing membership scheme and has been in existence for 35+ years. Most people in VG are long term fans, majority have a ST too in any case. The ones I know who don’t have a ST are because they live 100s of miles from The Valley or have some practical reason which prevents them from regularly attending home matches. VG helps to recognise this “emotional” loyalty and lifts it above a pure financial / transactional membership scheme.
- VG priority has become a much bigger topic in recent years. I’d suggest some of this is because the VG entry cost hasn’t changed in all these years so £10 per month is now relatively more affordable than it was back in the early 90s and you can therefore join and access ticket priority by paying six months in advance for £60. One way around that is to say you have to have actually been a member for six months before you receive ticket priority rather than you have to pay for six months in advance to receive it but that’s a decision for the VG committee.
- I’d like to think the club will always find a way to recognise and reward long term support alongside those who are local, fit enough, financially well off enough and practically able to have a season ticket for a couple of years. I imagine plenty on here would be up in arms if we are back in the PL for a couple of years and Jane and Johnny come latelys get to jump to the top of the priority Q.3 -
I wonder how many in VG now have been members from the start . I joined the initial scheme when it first started to raise funds for the return to the Valley and have dipped in and out of it over the years and currently a member now. That would be a fair commitment as well , not putting it at the same level as a ST holder for a similar length though.0

I get the talk about having a ST for 10+ years deserving something but I can’t imagine many clubs take that into consideration for a loyalty system for away games.
Plus if you’ve been a consecutive ST holder for 2 years, that’s 460 points plus 50 bonus points for renewing before prices rise. So you literally only had to do 2 away games last season to qualify for phase 7 which is the same as valley gold and which the sale should reach. This is before taking into account home cup matches which offer 10 points so given everyone would have done Chelsea only one more home cup game or one away game was needed6 -

Jokes aside I am after 2 if anyone has spares. One for me and one for my cousin George. He is getting a half season ticket this year cause of his work and I don't have my season ticket yet so am outside a decent ticket phase as a result.
Appreciate it's cheeky but you don't ask, you don't get.

I disagree. Firstly, until last season, we were assigned random seats. I was always given the front row by the corner flag without fail, regardless of when I bought my ticket. I never sat there once.OhMyGodden said:

Now that we do get to pick our seats, the order in which they're sold in makes little sense. I attend every single game and, in my opinion, that means I should be rewarded with the seat I want (unless somebody in the same phase beats me to it). When the seats are sold in a stupid order, I wait until the block I want is available before buying my ticket. However, that can sometimes be risky if it's an in demand fixture as I run the risk of the seats selling out before I can get a ticket, so I sometimes have to buy a seat I don't want and hope I can move it later.
There have also been instances where the best blocks haven't gone on sale until the last minute, giving those who barely attend any games the best seats and the regulars the worst.
I have also had a few instances where I have been given the wrong ticket by the ticket office and it can't be changed as they have already given the ticket I purchased to somebody else. Every time this has happened, I have sat in the seat I purchased rather than the one I was given.1 -

So as one of the most regular attenders by being in phase 2, and having spent money for my kids too, I don't get priority for the second tier which is my preference as the club don't have confidence we will sell out 5,000 tickets for Spurs away. That is daft.1 -
I've got a simpler system- cash spent on anything to do with the club. The 2019 playoff final I was the last person on the street to get a ticket- despite buying 5 adult tickets for home games (non season ticket). All the neighbours blagged tickets off friends of friends. That other lot never went except for the final. All the lower tier blocks have plenty of seats left, though the ones behind the goal are going fastest.0

The ticket priority points are always favoured to those that go away as this is an away game. If you do a few aways a season on top of your season tickets you’d be fine.Redvalleyeast said:

Every time this has happened, I have sat in the seat I purchased rather than the one I was given. It would depend on how many we've sold of our allocation. If for example we are allocated 2,000 seats and we sell 1200 but still retain the space for 2,000 then it is rarely a problem. If like Man Utd (9000 in a 9000 holding section then if people don't sit in their allocated seats it is a nightmare, the same as the Sheffield United quarter final and it will be the case with this game. I usually go to away games (and home for that matter) with my two boys and we want to sit/stand together. Imagine ariving a bit late and trying to find three together - it just doesn't work.We were at the Panama game at the New York/NJ Stadium and two guys rocked up a bit late in the row below us, but still before we kicked off, to find two sitting in their allocated seats. What were they to do? The two sitting in the seats said something like "I couldn't give a toss - we aint moving" - but they were Leeds fans!1 -
Screen shots of the sold ones?.1

I regularly ‘sit where I want’ away, but on the one occasion someone asked me for the seat as it was theirs, I had no problem moving. Old Trafford, Southamption last season etc I took the kids and when asked others to move out of our seats, I was given abuse in both occassions by non regulars and they wouldn’t move. Oh well, can’t wait for Spurs !bobmunro said:AS1987 said:
