Huge gaps still to fill but hopefully that's because we're trying to complete some big signings. We're still really short up front and on the wing and I think we need another midfielder.
Did we ever get anything official through on Mia Ross? I don't remember seeing an update on her contract but Johnston has taken her number and she's not been mentioned as far as I can tell. I don't know if we're holding out for other signings and then will offer her a deal if we're short at the end of the window or if they've just forgotten to do the comms on her/I've missed it1 -

Karen really does make it difficult to progress to the first team.

I stand by my statement earlier this summer that they renewed Anna Pedersen's contract primarily because they love getting her to do social media stuff. Which is fine, she looked a good keeper in the very few games we saw last season, but it goes a long way to explaining why we're better stocked in goal than anywhere else on the pitch1

OK, so this was a surprise. Not only are we going back to the women and men wearing slightly different shirts after a couple of seasons when it was only the colour of the shorts that differed, but the announcement of the new sponsor implies that it's going to be possible to buy replicas of the women's shirt design. I think that's probably the first time ever?

One of the earlier social media posts stated that proper replica shirts would be available with the WSL logo on one sleeve and the new sponsor on the other. The record-breaking agreement for the women's team will see Sofnfree branding feature on the sleeve of all women's first team playing shirts and replica shirts.0 -

It seems that one of the reasons for the retained players having to sign revised contracts is that the WSL has set a minimum wage of £42,500 for over 23s as well as other benefits.
The minimum annual salary for under-23 players is £34,700 for players aged 21 and 22, and £26,900 for players aged 18 to 20.

I tried on line and cannot, as the ticketing site thinks I have already bought 10 tickets and have reached my limit for the game, guess what I have not bought one ticket yet, this was going to be my first purchase of the women's season. Nice to have Flannery back, still reassuringly miserable I see. She improved a lot as the season went on and my main memory is of her playing on against Birmingham despite being obviously crippled and still throwing herself about the place when they really should have just taken her off. Hard worker and committed. She’s not WSL level but hopefully she can learn this season and be a key player next season depending on contract length
